HESTER RUPERT ART MUSEUM — Attraction in Camdeboo Local Municipality

The wide variety of different types of of pictures and sculptures shows the depth of the South African artists. The museum is tranquil and allows one to concentrate on the arts. It is a pity that the Town Council does not repair the leaking air-conditioning unit. It is spilling water onto the floor, damaging it. There is not even a bucket available to catch the water. Loved this gallery, it’s a collection of South Africa’s greatest artists from the 1960s. Most works seem to be dated 1965. This is a piece of SA heritage that is exquisitely preserved and well worth visiting. Unfortunately closed on Sat afternoons and Sunday. Old traditions still ongoing in Graaff Reinet. R10...
