Read moreWe went to restaurant Ku D ta at Wilson Whaf on Xmas Eve for dinner for a birthday celebration. Food was good.We enjoy the sea food menu, prawns, hake, calamari with side items. Vegetarian meals also available. Live entertainment. There is a dance floor. We were looking for a vibrant place & was satisfied. Set on cool waterfront location. Family oriented but noisy in a party style. Children were allowed on the dance floor. There are other quieter restaurants & pubs in the vicinity. Safe place with ample parking. We walked the mall after dinner. The mall is currently under renovation. There is an ice cream parlour. Some nice views. Service level was acceptable. Drinks & food was served timely. All in all was a pleasant experience out in a festive season. It lived up to the expectation of the birthday girl. The birthday girl is very critical & expressive over discontentment. This location have a potential to be 5 stars rating. This location is also for bookings for boat cruises. Access to the area is via Victoria Embankment between the Yacht Mole & Sugar Terminal. It's a trendy place for food, crafts & shows. Cool focus on outdoor Durban experience, interfacing boating marina. Nice place to relax & enjoy outdoor...a must experience for locals & holiday visitors. The core theme here is preservation of the natural...
Read moreThis has always been a favorite little spot to have a light lunch, walk around the market and then enjoy a boat ride. My visit a few days ago was an absolutely lovely one. I'm not sure of the name of the company I booked my boat ride with, but they were the first ones, as you walk towards the building, they are on the outside, a small office to the right. They were super friendly, and very professional. The skipper was an awesome guy named John, who obviously loved what he did. He took his time explaining the various ships around the habour, what they did and how. He made the entire boat trip, so enjoyable, comfortable and informative. The restaurants are all still good, some with live music, others with good views. I was however disappointed to see that the Market has so many vacant shops and that there really isn't much of a market left. I really think, having more stores or vendors will make it an even better outing. I hope to see a more of an upgrade of upkeep the next time I visit... It would be truely sad if this place closed. This really is a wonderful place to visit and I encourage more people to visit and support the local business people... At the shops, restaurants, boat rides, and help them sustain businesses that will be here for a long long...
