Start Of Cape Hangklip Trail 🥾 — Attraction in Overstrand Local Municipality

Some good birdlife , also a good spot to see the Orange-breasted sunbird. Although this is a nature reserve I am extremly dissapointed that most people come to walk in the reserve with their dogs and all of them without a leash. This was observed on more than one occasion and hope that this will be corrected by Cape Nature soon. There are some nice lookout points and if you feel more adventurous the view on the top is something to enjoy!

Great hike. Most beautiful views from the top. In summer you need to go early. Pick a day with minimum wind is not easy. No dogs are allowed even on a leash. Tough 2 hour hike with 400 m elevation. Not well marked. I used the AllTrails App to follow the loop route up to the top of Hangklip. Take hat, water, sunscreen, windbreaker and good walking shoes. We saw baboons at the top.
