Hanging Rock Kitchen — Restaurant in Overstrand Local Municipality

Stayed in the area for the weekend and did a search for the best restaurants around. Chose this place, drove all the way specifically to it only to be turned away at the door at 8:30pm. We were just told NO, implying kitchen is closed (at 8:30pm on a Saturday night), half the restaurant was empty so it’s not as if it was even full and there wasn’t any tables, no apologies or recommendations as to where else we could have dinner. Literally just turned away at the door and had the door shut in our face. To anyone thinking of coming here, DON’T. It’s definitely NOT the best restaurant around...

Very quirky and interesting restaurant. The owners are extremely professional, yet very friendly and seem keen to interact with the guests. In such a small town, (Pringle bay) I found it quite surprising that the food was absolutely great! I would recommend the carpaccio and brie pizza or the grilled chicken (grilled in the pizza oven and served with wedges). Everything was super delicious. I will however say that there were quite a few items that were unavailable, ( food and drinks) but that I commend the owners for only stocking fresh produce and 86'ing items that...

If you are planning to visit Pringle Bay, a visit to the Hanging Rock Kitchen is a must. We have driven past many times. There is nothing special on the outside that invites you in. Friends of ours had to take us there, and we knew we had missed a chance to discover it ourselves. Because once you enter, you will find yourself in a little wonderland. The greatest appeal of the place is not its food (our pizzas were crispy and tasty), but the ambiente. And the owners turn it into a very personal experience.
