EPISODE 3 - You will see how in recent reviews you see the truth about one of the aspects of this venue when they say they're fully booked, so check photos from those reviewers and you can make your own opinion.! It is without a doubt that your restaurant does not cook any of the meals, they're just purchased frozen and you just prepare sauces, which is unacceptable as you promote fresh food and should know this. It's also clear that you're just playing games to fill up your pockets... EPISODE 2 - Looks like you feel hurt, well obviously by lieing to customers it will take its toll! In any case you must be blind, or really mad.... We were not smoking? Neither said R95 but R55, put on your glasses smart pants! If you really make them fresh everyday, I challenge you to take a video and show it to us, which will not happen of course, customers should know you ripping them off with frozen food!
EPISODE 1 - I always look for the quality of the products, mastery of flavors and cooking techniques, value for money, setting, service and consistency between visits. The most difficult part is to decide impartially, fairly and honestly review which is very difficult as we all have different taste buds, styles and expectations; Therefore my reviews are based on my “Papilles” and experience.
Cork's owner, is not the best of hosts although he says he has decades of experience in the restaurant field, but his attitude is not right and needs to correct it, in fact the chef and staff should be congratulated and get all the credit for the served food, however overcharging for spring-rolls which are frozen is not right so as the dumplings, when I asked the front of house he was admin-ant that it was freshly prepared, but I doubted it (yes sir, you lied to me, those products are not freshly made but come from Bidfood, yes I am connected and will investigate to give honest reviews, therefore it is unacceptable from yourself), anyway the duck wasn't that awesome and I question comments wondering if anyone has really had ever had a great duck dish, on the other side the lamb shank was great, tiramisu was different and tasty. Expresso was not good despite the owner stating he had a 120 K machine...not to mention the exorbitant prohibitif price of a 750ml sparkling water, R55 the bottle is absolutely not on and dishonest, but wait, I forgot to mention that the patron had the audacity to over charge for the wine, when questioned typical answer was he had modified prices a week earlier but did nt refresh his menu costs, that's a bit off to me and not happy to see this overcharge, making me think that the owner thinks customers are dumb and stupid, sadly the venue is let down by a few hiccups...but most seriously its the lies and either fake reviews or uneducated customers, just to give you an idea the Duck is from Bidfood...
This restaurant is a local and...

Last saturday afternoon I brought my friend from the UK to my family home in Pringle Bay and decided to have some drinks in town and we settled on the Cork.
We were seated at table for 4 outside and ordered a round of soft drinks while we looked at the wine list. As there was no menus besides the wine menu and a blackboard which listed the food - my friend from the UK asked which beers they were serving to which the reply from who we think is the owner was a cold "South African Beer" with absolutely no further explanation. This is very unwelcoming comment to anyone visiting a restaurant let alone a tourist who doesn't have any knowledge of South African Beers. Perhaps the accent made him think we were all tourists but regardless we shouldn't have been treated any differently to the true locals that were dining.
We laughed the comment off and proceeded to order 2 beers and a bottle of wine for the table. The wine was brought to the table with no ice bucket and placed on the table for us to pour for ourselves (in 29 degree heat) which seemed a little strange for the caliber of establishment that we thought we were visiting.
Due to the unwelcoming service, we decided to skip ordering food. We got the bill of R337 to which I rounded up to R350 for ease and as we had very cold service from the owner I didn't think a 10% tip was appropriate for the level of service we recieved.
Nevertheless, we chose not to complain and thanked him when he came to take payment only for him to tell me to my face - "I will charge you the R337 as your tip is insulting".
NEVER have I ever recieved such a rude comment from anyone let alone the owner of an establishment that I chose to VOLUNTARILY tip after been disrespected.
Tipping is discretionary and regardless if the tip was 5% or 15% that would be reflective of your service.
I have been coming to my family home in Pringle Bay for over 10 years and always recieved remarkable service from all the establishments in the area and this experience at the Cork was extremely saddening to know that 'tourists' would be treated so horribly.
My best advice for anyone visiting Pringle Bay would be to AVOID this restaurant at all costs unless you want to be paying for utter disrespect - especially if you...

We recently dined at Cork & E. we were 6 keen diners and it was nothing short of a trap and disaster. It does not look like the food is daily freshly prepared as the owner claims; The dumplings were served hot outside and cold inside so as the H. Bitterballen, and even the Mussel Spaghettini was served cold, making it evident that the first two were not cooked properly below 180 degrees and how do you get Mussels cold to a table? The Chili Garlic Penne and Creamy Salmon was so watery that it had no taste, unbelievable! Thank god some of the other mains were okay! As per the desserts they seem to have come out straight from a box, making us think it was purchased from a supermarket!
The owner claims to have extensive knowledge of the restaurant industry and the wines he sells, but he clearly does not and very quick to try and force you to buy the most expensive bottles. His behavior is obnoxious and rude, with an answer for everything except the realities of the world he lives in. It is evident that his primary motive is to take your money rather than provide a quality dining experience.
Be wary of the final bill, as it includes surcharges that are not listed on the menu.
Additionally, the owner boasts about being fully booked, yet the restaurant was noticeably empty, with many unoccupied tables both inside and outside. He claimed it was too windy to use the outside tables, but that was not the case on the night we visited. We even witnessed him turning away walk-in clients—perhaps because they were different and I will not comment further upon this topic!
We also overheard the owner arguing with customers about their bill and tip, which he deemed an insult to the establishment. The customers, however, expressed their disappointment with his rude attitude and the overpriced, underwhelming food, mistakenly believing they were dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
In conclusion, Cork & E. is an experience best avoided. Be cautious and save yourself the disappointment and unnecessary expense. The owner is likely to respond defensively to this review, as he does not take criticism well and use his favorite comments.
Be also very weary of reviews which do not portrait very well the restaurant, making us think there could be some...
