The mall is overcrowded in terms of parking and people. The mall is small and reasonably clean, but some facilities need to be better maintained and upgraded.
Their food court is more take aways with other dispersed fast food restaurants. There have only three fine dining restaurants (Panarottis, John Dory's and Spur).
There's minimal entertainment (nu metro, magic company and two other things for kids).
The banking section is where all ATMs and branches are. There are hardly any ATMs in other areas of the mall. Capitec has two branches with ATMs at two different entrances and 1 other ATM elsewhere in the mall and one Standard bank ATM. There are no other ATMs that I have seen from major banks, except for a SASWITCH ATM at the GAME retail outlet.
Parking is free and open with parking attendants, so security is not considered high, but they are building a boom gate system at the entrances.
There are a lot of clothing stores, but not elite/luxury clothing stores (Guess, Under Armour, Nike, Adidas, etc.) They have TFG brands, Edgars, Mr Price, Pep, Ackermans, Studio 88, Lecoq Sportif, and so much more.
There are only 2 major grocery retail stores: Checkers, Food Lovers Market. Pick n Pay has closed down.
There are only 3 major electronic retail stores that I have seen: House and Home, GAME and HiFi Corp. The mall is not short of small businesses or micro businesses that focus on electronics with stalls that fix and sell cellular devices, sell accessories, speakers, and other small electronic devices.
Westgate mall is cannot be considered a mall you would go out to for the day, but a mall you would visit for a couple of hours to purchase your essentials and others items you desire. The mall has what you need for your...
Read moreI’ve had a terrible and pathetic experience at your shopping centre in fact it was the worst i have ever received as a consumer and bolt driver myself , i have been picking and dropping clients for quite sometime there but today i had the worst experience , i had a trip to collect a client there today date “ 23-11-2025 “ unfortunately the trip got cancelled and just as i was waiting for my next i had a fidelity guard approach me without even spending 5mins 🤷🏽♂️ well to them i was binding which i did not do because i know the rules of a bolt driver we just pick and collect , fine cut to the chase i was told i had to pay a R200 fine which i did as always a black person is always in the wrong without even having to hear their story even the guy who was parked next to me did tell them that i just got there and now they wanna clamp my car . As a law abiding citizen i compiled and went to their office to pay the fine but the worst thing to happen is a Lady by the name “ N Cuba “ who was writing an invoice/ receipt called me by “ clicking “ her fingers and said “Heh bhuti woza la “ i mean where is the professionalism in all that , to call someone by clicking your fingers ? In this day and age ? Well i suppose thats what you teach your guards at your complex and how inhumane those guys are. Much as i paid the fine and acknowledged my mistakes i should have been treated better. I know this will be brushed off like all other complaits but its just better if its out there so people can actually see how some individuals...
Read moreIt really does seem like there’s an overall bad service attitude at this mall. No matter what shop you go to you will be faced with workers that don’t want to assist or they generally just don’t have knowledge about what they’re selling in some shops. The overall mall just never has stock for ANYTHING especially if it’s clothing, shoes, electronics and some food items in Woolworths. I went to the mall to buy a specific SIM card package and they told me they don’t have stock until Wednesday??? Who is buying SIM cards everyday kanti 💀. I think the only shops that have good service is Mr Price Home, Numetro (since we buy tickets ourselves lol), John Dory’s, and Rebels Pizza (best service ever). The mall also allows things that wouldn’t be allowed at a suburb mall, like why am I paying for a plastic at Fish and Chips but if I go to rosebank the plastic is free?? Maybe they cheated me, who knows, but I can’t help to think that it’s an area thing and just bc it’s majority black and coloured individuals they allow these things to slide. Even something as simple as leaving a shop, why am I being searched?? But if I go to the suburbs I won’t get searched. I get that crime may be more common at that mall but where’s the progress in making black and coloured individuals aliens in their own communities. It’s crazy to say the least. Are we going to start paying R2 to go to the bathroom next?? I won’t be tuning in to...
