Dongnae Eupseong Fortress Site — Attraction in Busan

We checked out this fortress after reading the reviews from Google and we were not disappointed. It really is a charming place, beautifully maintained in picturesque surroundings. You can easily buy a variety of snacks at the local market and head up to the fortress grounds for a picnic like we did. The locals are a friendly crowd who were helpful when we approached for directions, despite our language barrier, down to the very helpful staff at the tourist info centre who thoughtfully checked out the correct transport routes to point us to our next destination...

The fortress was beautiful to visit and we were taken here on a private tour at night. It was great learning about the history of the wars in Busan and that the senior military ranks all lived here.

What I really recommend is climbing up the hill to the top. There is a really great view from the top and it is well...

Interesting site to visit. Used Naver to navigate. A mock up of the old fortress was quite fascinating. Astrological and weather ancient instruments are featured. North Gate, and stairs to climb up and down along the fortress walls. Lovely forest within the walls....
