stayed for 3 nights at Gwangalli Gray 193 Hotel. Location-wise, it's pretty good as it's just a short walk from Gwangalli Beach, right opposite the hotel and within walking distance. There are numerous eateries and convenience shops nearby, including a CU store just downstairs from the hotel. It's a boutique hotel where several hotel operators share the same building but occupy different floors. I booked the superior room with a city view, and the room size was only 22 m²/237 ft, a bit small. Nevertheless, the room was clean, and it included a simple breakfast from 7 am to 9 am. The breakfast consisted of cereals, bread, ham, cheese, fried rice, cup noodles, milk, yogurt, juice, and coffee. Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant stay during my visit. The hotel staff is actually friendly, and they are always ready to assist with any inquiries. The only drawback is the hotel's check-in time, which is 5 pm, and the check-out time is 11 am. If you want to check in earlier than 5 pm, you do need to pay for it. I paid ₩20,000 for an early check-in at 3 pm. They also have some toys near the front desk area, which are actually free for their customers if you're interested. This is a nice service...
Read moreThe hotel is a great value for money. The best part is the customer service, the girls at the front desk are very kind, helpful, and always willing to assist. Another highlight is the location, right in front of the beach and surrounded by countless restaurants. If you book a room with an ocean view, it’s the best choice there’s nothing like waking up to that view!
To find it easily, look for “Ocean View.” The building hosts several hotels, and this one occupies the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors. Reception is on the 5th floor, where you’ll also find the kitchen with hot and cold water, ice, and coffee-making facilities. They also serve breakfast, which is more Korean-style than Western.
Rooms come with a fridge stocked with water. Towels, water, and trash are refreshed daily, and they provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
What could be improved: having an electric kettle in each room so you don’t need to go downstairs for hot water or tea, and offering disposable slippers instead of rubber ones, which feel...
Read moreWe booked the ocean view room, and the view was truly the highlight — you get a great view of Gwangan Beach, especially during sunset.
However, the location is not near any subway station, so we mostly used taxis for transport. The bed was quite hard. The bathroom doesn’t really have a dry-wet separation, so water splashes easily onto the floor after a shower.
One thing that bothered us was the heavy artificial scent in the lift/lobby area — it smelled like strong fake perfume, not very pleasant. Also, at night, there were noisy motorcycles downstairs, which could be annoying if you're sensitive to noise.
We initially thought the room had an LG clothing care machine (as shown in photos), but it’s actually shared in a common area outside, not inside your room.
A good point is that there’s a CU convenience store just downstairs, so buying snacks or drinks is easy.
Overall, this hotel is really “you get what you pay for” — it’s okay if you’re not...
