Changgyeonggung Greenhouse, located within the grounds of Changgyeonggung Palace in Seoul, South Korea, is the first Western-style greenhouse built in the country. Constructed in 1909 during the Korean Empire under Emperor Gojong’s reign, the greenhouse was designed to cultivate and showcase various plants, both native and exotic, reflecting the period’s interest in botany and modern horticultural techniques.

The greenhouse has a striking design, with glass panels and an iron frame, which was a novel architectural approach at the time in Korea. It features a variety of tropical plants and flowers, offering a peaceful and unique experience within the historical palace grounds.

Visitors can walk through the greenhouse, enjoying the carefully curated plants and flowers, which are displayed year-round. The greenhouse is especially appealing to those interested in botany, garden design, or simply looking for a quiet space to enjoy nature.

Since the greenhouse is part of the Changgyeonggung Palace complex, access is included with the standard palace admission fee. It is located near other palace structures and gardens, making it an easy stop during a visit to the palace.

The Changgyeonggung Greenhouse is a peaceful and beautifully maintained space, providing a contrast to the traditional Korean architecture surrounding it. It's a perfect spot for a short break or a leisurely stroll, especially if you're interested in plants or historical...

A hidden little gem inside the changyeonggung palace grounds up on top of the hill. This is one of the modern additions to the palace, with an excellent little collection of plants, unique and exotic flowers and carefully curated bonsais.

I would pay just to come here and tour the greenhouse. From fruit trees to palms, carnivorous plants and many rare specimens you won't find anywhere else, this glass house is a must see when visiting the area and definitely a great shelter on those...
