If you want Indian food around Hyehwa, Kaili is the place you might be looking for. The price is surprisingly good compared to other Indian restaurants in Seoul, and the taste is pretty good.
The tandoori chicken was pretty good, unlike that one place that serves dried up tandoori chicken that looks like it could've seen better days, this place actually serves soft braided chicken. The curry dishes were pretty good, I've never been to India so I cannot confirm the authenticity, but it sure was good.
One thing that I've noticed was the people working here are pretty friendly and helpful. I think I ordered something by mistake and they were willing to change the order even though the food came out.
I do want to point out that if you were to visit alone, you have to order a menu for two to enter. For me I'm a hungry hungry hippo so I wolfed down the whole set menu plus a biriyani, but I don't think a lot of Koreans would do that. I see some complaints here about not letting in a single person, and at this day and age I feel like that policy is gay as a rainbow rhinoceros.

When they finally did bring the whiskey it felt like it had been warmed up on that 34 degree day. (Maybe neat whiskey is traditionally served warm in India?)
I also didn't care for the Korean side dishes including cabbage with honey mustard served with the Indian food. If I wanted Korean food I would have gone to a Korean restaurant.
(I put "sold out" in quotations because sold out in Korea often just means "we advertise it but we don't actually...
Read moreThis place used to be good. However today when I went in with my friend for lunch we had to wait even though the restaurant was empty. Since we told her we had to wait for a third person she told us we couldn't sit on the table, even though we wanted to eat right away! After explaining to her that we would like to eat first she went again saying that we had to wait for the 3rd person, totally nonsense. The girl was super rude and we had a really...
