I was inappropriately groped by my instructor on multiple occasions during my excursion with Sky of Tenerife, I will spare the full details from this review. My instructor was Carmine. If this had happened in England I would have reported it to the police.

I had wanted to do paragliding for years as I thought it looked amazing. We finally booked it and were so excited. We drove with the group to the takeoff spot and upon arriving Carmine immediately selected me as the one who would fly with him. At the takeoff spot Carmine touched me inappropriately whilst putting my harness on and then all again when he ‘checked it’. I’ve worn a harness many times before and have never experienced this. I tried to convince myself maybe it was different for paragliding as I hadn’t done it before, but afterwards I spoke to my boyfriend who did the same flight and he said he was not touched at all by his instructor and that the harness doesn’t need to be tight because you can’t fall out.

Everyone from my group had set off, leaving me stood on the hill for a very long time, when he finally said we could go. The first takeoff attempt failed which left us half way down the hill (everybody else had took off first try with no problems) and he then tried to blame me which I didn’t appreciate. He groped me so blatantly again in the air which was the worst one as there was certainly not the excuse to be used that he needed to for the harness… and then we headed straight down to the landing.

The flight was supposed to be 25 minutes and this flight wasn’t even 10, but I was so desperate to be away from him I didn’t care. When we landed I quickly headed off in tears as it was so horrific. He said he’d give me all the photos for free if I left a good review and seemed sheepish so I wonder if he knew he hadn’t gotten away with it this time.

I hope by me leaving this review is that no one else will have to go through what I did. There are plenty of other companies. I severely don’t recommend this one, especially if you are female. What a horrific time we had with Sky...

Lounging in and around the pool at our hotel, we had been watching the paragliders coming over and landing alongside from day one. On an evening walk around the hotel we came across a group that had just landed. We got chatting to Daniel and his team.

Friendly and obviously very passionate they gave us a leaflet. Didn’t take me very long to send the WhatsApp message and get a few more details. Answered all questions and concerns very promptly, putting my ‘rookie’ mind at rest. I had a day ‘to think’ and booked for the day after…

Not one for just sitting around a pool getting sunburnt and fat, I’m always up for a bit of a challenge on holiday. A bit of a lifelong fear of heights made this an extra special challenge for me 😱😱😱.

Being picked up at the hotel and taken up the mountain to the launch site was fun in itself, with great views and a great soundtrack on the van stereo! I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit apprehensive though!!

But I needn’t have been! I was put at ease by both Daniel and my instructor Francisco, and before I knew it I was strapped in and airborne. A little bit of buffeting as we found the thermals but nothing extreme.

I needn’t have feared!! The heights were not really an issue (surprisingly) - the awesome views and otherworldly ‘location overload’ overrode all that!! What a great way to get a bit more of a feel for a little more of the island. Mind blowing.

I was in the air for probably between 20 and 25 minutes. The final spiralling drop to the beautiful Playa de la Enramada beach was exciting, haha, if not a bit stomach churning (they can take this a bit easier for you if motion sickness is an issue). Let’s just say I was right on my limit there, but definitely worth the adrenaline rush 😜👍😎.

Definitely also worth paying the little extra for all the videos and pics, so you can take the memories away with you!!! They download to your phone right there and then!!! - what more could you ask for!

Couldn’t ask for a better service, very professional throughout!! Definitely recommend Sky of Tenerife!!! - they are your guys!!!

And if you are scared of heights, don’t be!! - it’s the perfect cure!!! Haha, only taken me (almost) 61 years!! 👊💥

My girlfriend and I came paragliding with sky of Tenerife in December and Carmine (German man, the co-owner?) assaulted my girlfriend. From pick up a few of the instructors made some inappropriate and sexist/predatory comments towards the two female participants. When we arrived at the flight location the instructors were almost arguing over who would take the two females and Carmine was quick to choose my girlfriend grabbing her by the wrist - he sent me off first and I felt uncomfortable leaving my partner but told myself I was being distrusting. As soon as my partner landed around 45 minutes after me when everyone else was down I could tell that she was upset. She wouldn’t tell me what had happened when Carmine was there as she was frightened and did not want to cause a fight. I could tell that Carmine was acting differently straight away and he offered us the photos for free which if I remember correctly were like €30 each. When we got back to the hotel she was asking if my instructor had been near my private parts when fastening the harness - my instructor actually told me when we were setting up that this could be loose (mine was hanging down between my legs not near my groin at all) Carmine when he fastened my parters harness tightened it as far up as it would go and grabbed her between the legs and then again to ‘check it’. Upon take off he grabbed her breasts from his seat behind with both hands. Not a safe place for women to go. They think because they are paragliding instructors that they have a right to seed over women. I’ve worked in the action sports industry for 10 years myself and have never seen such behaviours as I saw...
