Mirador de Abrante — Attraction in Agulo

Really fantastic restaurant on all counts, and highly recommended to visit. You might be forgiven for thinking a place like this is just a tourist trap, you would be wrong. Everything was spot on. Starting with the welcome and the service, the waiters interacted with the customers, and I was welcomed with a handshake. Service was slick and professional.

Next, the presentation. I've attached photos, the food arrived with a real wow factor. Care was taken over each plate, which were colourful and smart, while retaining a rustic edge commensurate with local cuisine.

The food it's self was absolutely fantastic. Modern twists on local dishes. We had fried fresh goat's cheese 3 ways including the locally made palm honey glaze; Batatas bravas canary style; an exquisite Tomato avocado and roasted garlic salad all as fresh as you will find it anywhere in the world; and the restaurant speciality croquettes, which can be bought as singles or in 6's. We mixed and matched flavours.

Finally, goes almost without saying, the view. Where else could you have lunch hanging over a cliff edge?! It was breathtaking.

The price was extremely reasonable, we paid €30 for a hansom 2 course lunch for 2 with drinks.

Wonderful. It’s a shame that the restaurant is close. Nonetheless bring your own boccadillos from Vallehermoso’s supermercado and enjoy ! Behind the mirador, you can walk around the Mars like red sand. In several areas in the north of La Gomera you can find spectacular eroded lands of striking reddish tones, furrowed by deep gullies. The intense erosion that is observed in them, produced by the water of escorrentia, is related to the disappearance protective vegetation caused in the past by an excessive exploitation. Ci troviamo alle Isole Canarie alla Gomera e siamo incuriositi nel fermarci nei vari Mirador di questa meravigliosa ed unica Isola e contemplare questi affascinanti paesaggi. In questi giorni ne abbiamo scoperti molti che ci hanno entusiasmato ma ieri sera contemplando una rivista turistica sulla Gomera abbiamo scoperto in foto questo spettacolare posto. Oggi ci siamo organizzati e con il nostro veicolo abbiamo toccato con mano questa meraviglia. Infatti la location é unica e ne vale la pena di vedere perchè la natura che la circonda è unica. Il terreno friabile e roccioso è di color rosso e la vegetazione verde viene risaltata. La particolarità di questo mirador che ha pure ristorante e bar è che si trova adagiato su una rupe a ca 700 mt sul mare e guarda in basso sulla cittadina di Agulo. Immaginate di vedere da una sporgenza con parete in vetro a precipizio e se avete problemi di vertigini dovete rinunciare e questo scenario e siamo solo all’inizio del brivido poiché avete ben 3 balconi.

Poichè la vostra adrenalina è caricata non potete rinunciare al TOP o meglio: All’interno del salone ristorante e bar è stata creata per i PIÙ una lunga sporgenza in cristallo di ca. 7 metri che esce a strapiombo. Questa struttura in acciaio e rivestita totalmente in vetro rimane trasparente anche dove mettete i piedi e quindi immaginate sul fondo il dirupo, la cittadina ed il mare e davanti il monte Teide della vicina Isola di Tenerife.

È una cosa unica e per chi non soffre di vertigini da provare!! Andate subito!

Per una mia scrupolosa osservazione desidero però raccomandare alle persone con o senza bambini che usciti dal Mirador direzione Ovest vi è un sentiero percorribile che arriva su un pianoro a fianco dei punti d’osservazione citati in precedenza. A mio modo di vedere ritengo che il pianoro sia punto d’attrazione per foto suggestive ecc ma attenzione non è un pianoro super sicuro ed il terreno è molto friabile Quando incomincia a scendere è in caduta libera per 500/700 Mt e non ho visto alcun cartello di pericolo o protezioni di sicurezza.
