Sports Centre CEM Guinardó — Attraction in Barcelona

Had to cancel my membership today as basically there is impossible to find an hour when there are no classes in the pool, including the weekends.

Also, there are a lot of technicians present, however none of them intervenes if somebody extremely slow enters the fast lane slowing and ruining everyone else’s training. People do not respect the rules and it creates frustrating situations. especially if you have only a limited time to spend there.

The water doesn’t feel clean lately. Also spotted cockroaches couple of times in the shower.

All in all if you only want to use the swimming pool, it is very limited and comes out way too expensive with these conditions.

I had a great experience at this sports center! Although I can barely speak Spanish and the receptionist spoke little English, she made a real efort to communicate and solve my issue—I really appreciated her attitude and dedication. The staff were friendly and welcoming inclufing young lifeguards.

I visited twice with my son and only used the pool, which costs around €13 for adults and €9 for kids for a single visit. They also offer monthly packages with different rates

Com a usuari habitual del CEM Guinardó, em preocupa molt el deteriorament en l’ús del català al centre, especialment en activitats infantils. He pogut constatar que hi ha monitors que no utilitzen el català com a llengua vehicular, fins i tot amb infants de famílies clarament catalanoparlants. Això incompleix la normativa i ignora la responsabilitat que té un servei públic amb la llengua pròpia del país.

Entenc que hi pugui haver dificultats per trobar personal qualificat, però això no justifica que el català desaparegui sistemàticament de les activitats. Caldria establir protocols clars i garantir que la llengua dels infants sigui respectada i protegida.

Si aquesta situació continua, no només s’està perdent qualitat educativa i inclusiva, sinó que també es corre el risc de convertir el centre en un espai on el català és residual. Cal que ho vigilin seriosament.

Entenc perfectament que cal donar temps als tècnics que venen de fora per adaptar-se i aprendre la llengua, i això és respectable. Però això no justifica en cap cas que monitors autòctons no s’expressin en català, especialment quan estan tractant amb infants en un entorn on se suposa que s’hauria de fomentar la llengua. Si volem ser coherents amb aquest objectiu, els primers que l’han de respectar són els que ja tenen el català com a llengua pròpia.
