Torre de Collserola — Attraction in Barcelona

TORRE DE COLLSEROLA This tower was designed by the architects Sir Norman Foster, Julio Martínez Calzón and Manuel Julià Vilardell. It was built in 1991 for the Olympic Games in 1992. It is mainly used as a TV and radio transmitter. It has 13 floors and the 10th floor is open to the public. The tower’s height is 288,4m. The tower has a space for event organisations composed by a reception room and observation desk. You can go to the tower by car until a parking that is a few meters down the tower. In addition I recommend you to organize a day trip in Collserola and go to Tibidabo (an amusement park), Torre Bellesguard (a tower designed by Gaudí), Carretera de les Aigües (a highway where you can see the views of Barcelona),... and finally, at the end of the day, you go up to the tower so you can see the wonderful landscape of Barcelona with the sunset behind. Be careful about trusting the schedule posted online. I arrived on a Sunday around 5:20 PM intending to watch the sunset (perfect timing). The schedule said they are open until 7:45 PM. I spoke with the gentelman selling tickets (I speak fluent Spanish), and he said the last group was about to leave and I would not make it (I hear it is a quick ride). I requested to walk up it using the stairs in that case and he rejected this offer as well without providing an explanation. I must give this the lowest rating possible due to objectively poor customer service and a lack of good faith. From what I could tell they (he) likely just wanted to close early since there was not a big line. I chose not to argue the issue and instead would like to inform the public of how I was treated. Torre De Collserola From the point of height where you can have a nice look at this tower is breathtaking, the place overall looks really good. You hike as well as reach there by drive.. the view of Barcelona City from the top looks really phenomenal. Talking about the tower itself, honestly speaking it is not that attractive. It is just another tower but the place has a pleasantly different kind of vibe to it.. it feels good over there. You can enjoy the views and spend some quality time.. it's basically all about the view you get to see from above....
