Here’s your review: “For booking, use the official website. It costs 45 euros for the trail as of June 2025. The trail is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. You can book your time in advance. Don’t forget to also book a boat. Everything is written on the official website, so read it carefully. Very important: you must have hiking shoes. They will check, and if you don’t have them, you will either have to buy them locally or be refused entry. Some other trails in Tenerife allow hiking without hiking shoes, but this place is very strict. Even though the trail is not difficult, they enforce this rule rigorously. It will take around 2–3 hours to finish the trail. The walk is mostly downhill, making it quite easy. However, be aware that due to bad weather, the boat service can be closed. In this case, you would have to go back on foot, which would be much more difficult. There is an age limitation, with a minimum age of 8 years for kids. You should also bring 1.5 liters of water. Personally, I consumed less than half a liter as the trail is easy, but in hot weather and considering the return trip on foot, the 1.5-liter recommendation is quite reasonable. When finishing the trail, you will not be allowed to spend some time on the beach, maximum 15-20 minutes, just until the next boat. So, if you want to rest a little bit and enjoy the view, just stay in the cave, which is 5-10 minutes before the end of the trail, and enjoy your meal there. At the end of the trail, before taking a boat, you will be allowed for a quick swim, but depends on the weather and depends on the boat schedule.

Follow ALL rules and enjoy one of your most awesome hikings of your life: - online reservation - arrive in time or earlier - wear hiking shoes - bring enough to eat / to drink - come by bus or taxi (for example from Santiago del Teide) If you are not able to follow these rules, don‘t send negativ reviews. The hiking tour took us around 5 hours. We did enough breaks and took lots of pictures. You need to go the same way back. It‘s not possible to drive by boat any longer. But it‘s amazing. Muchas Gracias to the whole team.

Today, the entrance was even guarded by an armed guard - see photo. Anyway, I did not do this hike, because the price (40 euros hike + 25 euros boat) seems too high for one relatively short hike. I still enjoyed my walk through the village. Arriving before 9 it is almost free of tourists, and there are wonderful views of the sun starting to climb above the mountains.

The trail is beautiful and pretty much easy, we've been here back in 2017 and it was great. Now in 2025 it's expensive, open 3 days a week, strict regulations. If they decide your shoes are not suitable for the hike they will not let you in, instead they suggest you to buy shoes from them for 3 times the price, and there are no refunds for the tickets if you bought it already, so basically you have no other options. The staff is rather rude and unfriendly, which spoils the experience of hiking. Avoid this place, spend your money on...
