La Fuente — Restaurant in Buenavista del Norte

Went here on our trip to Masca. It is located at a beautiful sight overviewing the landscape of Masca.

The waiters are decently friendly but quite slow we had to ask 3 times for the bill before walking to the counter ourselves. We did not order bread as starter but got bread anyway. And they charged us for it. It was only €1.75 more or less but we were surprised to see it on the bill.

Their menu can be confusing to foreigners. We ordered the braised beef and the menu did not mention if the braised beef comes with fries or anything. So we ordered extra fries. When the braised beef arrived they already came with fries on top. Would be nice if that was mentioned or we wouldn’t be there with a bunch of fries. We could’ve asked as well so I don’t blame them a lot for this.

The braised beef however was not very well. It had little flavour and were quite hard to eat. And the fries had no salt on it and were drenched in oil.

Also we had to wait about 25 minutes before receiving our food while other tables with the same food got theirs before us even though they ordered it later than us.

Overall not an amazing experience but it’s good enough to fill your belly if you’re hungry...

Placed on a extraordinary position with amazing view the restaurant would be better managed without any stuff and without a manager. Menu is less than basic, rabbit and the soup we had were decent to satisfy the hunger but the pizza (only one type you can order) was amongst the worst one you could try even including the frozen types (in fact it looks like it was frozen) so we didn't even eat it after second time we had to send it back because it wasn't done. And I can really eat everything, especially when I am hungry 😁 The funniest thing is that we were only with 4 other guests in the restaurant and they had all the time in the world to dedicate some time to the people in the restaurant. Walk down the hill, avoid this one. Or if you do stay and pay by card ask them to look away when you are entering your PIN code, I never had experience that the waiter is looking 2 times (since he made a mistake, he was shorter than me) 20 cm from his nose when I was typing it in into the machine, like I was giving the secret PIN directly to...

5/5 for the view, 0/5 for the staff, all the grumpy grandpa waiters should be replaced, wanted to order another beer but none of the staff would even look at our table even tho we had empty mugs for like 10 minutes, finally had to stand up and walk up to a waiter passing by, pointing at our table I said "can we get..." but he didnt even bother to stop, just said "ok, ok" and walked away before I told him what we want. So we sat there for another 5 minutes and thought he'll come back for the order, but instead this guy bring us the bill.... all this while the other grandpa waiter was pretending he's cleaning other tables while chatting with some local guy for like 20 minutes. Spectacular view, and not so much of a choice of restaurants in Masca so thats why they probably dont give a f about opinions. Pricewise it wasn't that bad ~4€...
