Written from an international travelers perspective.
The nightclub itself is impressive. Massive sound system and cool lighting rig (although the video screens were just duplicates of one another - a stage tech thing). There were plenty of bars to go around, although very understaffed the night I was there, which lead to immense queueing to buy a drink to the point that people gave up after standing in line for ten minutes or so.
The big disappointment however was the STEEP entry price of €50, which included one drink. I belive residents pay less though, but that's outside of my perspective. That combined with the not-so-international DJs playing songs that anyone outside of the very south of Europe has never heard leading up to the main act made the experience for an international traveler quite... Meh. The main act also did not have an announced stage-time, so I was left guessing when to head on to the floor.
In the end I had a pretty decent time when the main act stepped on, which speaks volumes to what could be improved. Magaluf is the pinnacle of vacation destinations for (mostly young) Europeans, so the whole "international club"-part should weigh a bit heavier in my opinion. It is however very fair to play Spanish music at a Spanish club. It wasn't for me, though.
Lower the entrance fee and hire DJs that play more universal and international music. I don't think I'll be going here again on my current trip because of the incredibly steep...
Read moreBCM! “The biggest in Europe,” or so I was led to believe. Turns out it’s only the biggest disappointment in Europe.
Tickets were acquired from what can only be described as a deranged, slightly sticky man loitering outside my hostel. £40 each! For a brief moment I considered seducing him to save money, but then remembered I’d found some loose change on the pavement earlier that day. Romance was off the cards.
Upon entering (around midnight), I was greeted with blinding lights and music so enthusiastic it was clearly trying to distract me from the fact that there were a grand total of seven people inside—including myself. I’ve seen better turnouts at my nan’s funeral, and she wasn’t exactly the most popular woman.
I thought I’d soften the blow with a drink, but when I saw the price, £20 for something smaller than a small glass of wine, I immediately called my estate agent to list my house on Rightmove. By the end of the night I was homeless, mildly dehydrated, and still irritatingly sober.
The only redeeming feature of the evening was securing a solid gold chain from a bloke on the street for a fiver. Bargain of...
Read moreVery disappointed with the staff at BCM. We were told by the BCM rep who we bought our tickets from to get there early before the DJ snake event starts to get our stamps which will avoid the queues later on in the night and he said once we got our stamp we could leave the venue and come back just before DJ snake came on. So we did that, but my stamp washed off when I washed my hands after going to the toilet, so I assumed it would not be an issue since it was just me out of 4 other friends and I could just show my receipt and my Apple Pay receipt and be let in. But no, a member of staff verbally abused me and my friends and dragged me and one of my friends who may I add had a stamp on her hand and pushed us down the stairs and told us to leave. After negotiating with him and showing him my bank statement he believed me. I’m glad I didn’t pay in cash, otherwise I’d have missed out on a €50 event. After eventually being let in I wasn’t there long. It completely ruined my evening. That man who dragged us down the stairs scared me and my friend. I would never go...
