We made the guided tour at casa del vino in English. It was literally amazing. It lasted around 1.5 hours and we had time to visit the hacienda, the museum and the garden. Our tour guide was Olga and she has been super nice and explained a lot of things about the casa del vino and the canary islands. After that we made the wine taste experience. She explained everything about the wines we were tasting (that were all super good: white, rosé and red) and everything was accompanied by a selection of wonderful goat cheese and honey. Olga has been a very nice and prepared guide, someone who you would like to drink a glass of wine with while talking. The hacienda is a beautiful place where you can chill out in the sun. It was amazing and the personnel at the wine shop was very nice and kind, always ready to give you the best suggestions. Definitely something you do not want to miss when you are in Tenerife. If you like there's also a nice restaurant (xarko) just right there in the hacienda. Thank you Olga and hacienda! Hope to...
Read moreThere is not much there about myseum, it is just a pretext to sell to average goods at exagerated prices. Those who visited especially Eastern countries should know this kind of business very well. It targets mostly organized groups (and exclusively tourists) ans it is designed to impress you, suggest you found something special, the staff is very complaisant, offers you to try, creates specific atmosphere... Finally you buy what you did not want, as you either feel obligated or ashamed or really believe you do a good bargain... I was assertive enough to buy just 1 bottle of wine and was trapped only because I was recommended to go here by my local host, Regarding the wine quality, I am not enologisc, but not an ignorant, either. I drank many wines from many countries and what they offered me was by no means impressing: quite acidic, short and flat (not to say wishy-washy). Perhaps this is how Canarian wines are. I don't have expeetise in the field. However I can assure you can buy much better (even Spanish) wine at...
Read moreTerrible experience! Unprofessional and disrespectful staff.
We arrived to la casa de vinos at about 13:00, we entered and asked for information. No one was paying any attention to us until an employee came and ask us to go sit down so someone could attend us. Let me clarify, we mentioned we didn’t have reservation and just wanted to buy some glasses of wine, if possible. We sat down and waited for 30 min seeing CLEARLY the employees looking at us and deciding to serve people who arrived after us. Probably they had reservation but obviously we weren’t told anything. Besides, there were 3 tables in total, not a busy time. After 30 minutes we went inside asking for explanation. They told us we didn’t have reservation so we had a lot to wait if we wanted to be served. No one has ever mentioned anything to us when we clearly specified we did not reserve when we entered. They made us sit down in the table and clearly ignored us. Incredibly disrespectful behaviour. I am...
