La Baranda brunch — Restaurant in El Sauzal

I recently visited La Baranda with my family, including my 1 year-old niece, and had an overall enjoyable experience. The family-friendly environment made it a comfortable outing, especially with the presence of sofas where the little one could play.

The atmosphere at La Baranda was truly delightful, creating a warm and welcoming vibe. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the stunning views of El Teide that the place offered. The addition of a small skywalk area provided a picturesque backdrop.

Although our visit was brief, we decided to indulge in a quick coffee session. I opted for the Barraquito, a concoction known for its layers of milk, coffee, condensed milk, and liquor. Unfortunately, my experience with the coffee left something to be desired, The Coffee wasn´t hot and it had waaaaay to much liquor.

All in all, I would still recommend La Baranda to others. It stands out as an excellent venue for spending quality time with family or friends. The breathtaking views of El Teide alone make it worth a visit, and the service, on the whole, was commendable.

Great views and beautiful, brand new refurbished terrace area. It’s really nice to walk in the terrace, it really does look like a high standing establishment. We went at night for drinks and food. It was pretty busy and full with locals, which we took as a sign of quality. The staff are on point, it’s obvious that many have been hired after the refurb in order to bring a fresher vibe to it. However there was issues with the orders, and often got “lost”. It didn’t happen to us alone, also to tables nearby. You could tell which waiters were trained in modern hospitality and who had just been working in that place for 40 years. In terms of service, this place works for the former alone. If that improved, it would be so, so much better. The food is actually very tasty but limited. The one thing that we didn’t like was the nachos. They were a joke. Cold tortilla chips with just a little bit of toppings on the top layer and nothing underneath, with processed cheese sauce over them. Cmon guys. I’m writing this review only because those were the worst nachos I’ve ever tried. You need way more toppings and real cheese and they have to be warm and come out with plenty of toppings and sauce. Nos habían hablado mucho de este sitio pero aún no habíamos podido ir. Y la verdad es que ahora que ya lo hemos visitado, no nos ha defraudado.

Está en la misma curva de entrada al Sauzal viniendo de Santa Cruz, hay que entrar hasta la rotonda y ya volver hacia atrás para llegar a la entrada. Tiene un parking amplio con un guardián que controla, dirige y te echa una mano cuando no hay demasiada visibilidad con los aparcamientos. Así que por esa parte un punto muy positivo y que los diferencia de las otras terrazas de la zona.

Una vez dejado el parking encuentras la terraza que está dividida en varias zonas. A mano izquierda encuentras un local no muy grande pero muy estiloso, y puesto con gusto, tipo cafetería- dulcería con muy buena pinta.

Hacia la derecha hay una pasarela que da acceso a la terraza propiamente dicha. Ésta a su vez está dividida en varios ambientes y en varias alturas.

Hay una zona de sofás a la entrada para grupos grandes, otra de terraza con mesas altas y taburetes y mesas normales, y a la izquierda, la terraza principal. No es excesivamente grande, pero está puesta con gusto y con abundante vegetación, como todo el local. Sin duda predominan las plantas, la vegetación, y el cristal, lo que unido a las impresionantes vistas sobre la costa norte, y el Teide consiguen un efecto maravilloso.

Los atardeceres resultan realmente impresionantes, también de noche con la cuidada iluminación se consigue un efecto muy chulo, llamando especialmente la atención la pasarela de cristal que han puesto. Está volada al final de la terraza en cristal y es impresionante, aunque no apta para los que tenemos vértigo.

Respecto al servicio, muy eficaz y atento sin agobiar. Hay muchos camareros y no tardan en atenderte aunque esté la terraza a tope ( como nos ha pasado las dos veces que hemos ido). Son amables y resolutivos, y eso es siempre una buena combinación.

Los cócteles buenos. Hemos probado varios y merecen la pena. Igualmente los bocatas y sándwiches que están realmente bien. El picoteo también bueno, teniendo que resaltar especialmente los nachos. Los smothies ricos y también la parte de bollería. Tienen mucha variedad y lo que probamos, todo muy bueno.

En definitiva, todo lo que tomamos estaba bien, y bastante adecuada la relación calidad- precio. No es barato pero está bien de precio teniendo en cuenta el privilegiado entorno.

Sin duda, es un lugar muy recomendable al que volveremos para seguir probando cosas de su carta y disfrutando de esas vistas...
