Entrance: free of charge, it's a public beach.
📍How to get there: the easiest way is by 🚌bus + ~800m walking. It's almost impossible to go by foot from San Juan via banana plantations as it is an extreme way(climbing needed).
🅿️There are some parking slots near the hotel but anyway you need to walk ~800m (you can drive closer to the beach but you can't park a car there). The bus goes approximately every half an hour during beach time, even on weekends. The schedule on maps is not accurate, if you would like to come back from the beach exactly on time - you should scan a QR code on the bus stop on your way back(spend a minute and save 30 minutes). QR code will land you on the bus operator webpage with the exact time till the next bus.
🧭How to pass the hotel: from the bus stop there is a nice walking road, pass a roundabout, on the right-hand side there will be a banana plantation while on the left there will be a hotel garden🍀. It's a very nice pedestrian road down(~700m with elevation -8 flours or 24m). It's not difficult at all since the road is designed for hotel guests. Steps: at the end of the pedestrian road there is a viewpoint and start of the steps down to the beach. There are approximately 230 steps (equal to 13 floors). The way down is easier but you need to watch under your feet.
🏖️Beach: it’s a very clean beach with yellow sand from Morocco. Hotel facilities take only 30% of the beach. Most of the territory of the sand is completely free for visitors. You can bring your towel, food🍌🧺, drinks and even an umbrella without any restrictions. There is a bar on the beach but it’s part of the hotel so prices are high. 🚾There is a public wc on the beach maintained by the hotel. 🚿Beach shower is not as good as you may expect.
🌊Water: there are no stones under the water when you enter the sea. No need for any protection for your feet (not the case for most of the beach’s at Tenerife). The water is very clean and calm because of the stone barrier 70m from the beach. So that you can enjoy swimming in any weather conditions. It’s deeper than 2 m in 5m from the seafront. The natural stone barrier has a lot of sea life including fish, crabs and sea urchins (not a good idea to step on the stones on the natural barrier). There is no danger at the sandy sea bottom near the beach. Water is saltier and warmer because of closed lagune.
📶WiFi: only for hotel guests, mobile internet works fine on the beach. Other attractions: there is a small natural bath and pier on the left side of the beach. 🦀There are a lot of crabs there. It's a good place for photos.
🌺The hotel planted some flowers and a nice trees near the beach. Way back: it’s important to leave the beach before darkness as you need to go up 230 steps. Since you pathed the steps no light will be needed as the path thorough hotel is nicely highlighted.
🚌How to pay for the bus: either buy a Tenerife bus card(€2) + put some money on the balance (~€2 one way from SanJuan) or use the mobile app (not easy to use, but possible to understand, mobile internet required even for rides). The idea of a mobile app is the following: you select a route, from and to stops, it shows you ride cost, you put some amount on your app balance and purchase a ticket (you can refund it in case if you didn't use it). At the entrance to the bus you select your ticket, press travel and scan the QR code in the bus, the system validates your ticket and you show it...
Read moreProbably the most cozy, wonderful and secluded beach of the island!! Is a real struggle to get here if you're driving, because the parking situation is just terrible : the designated public parking is right across the entrace of the Ritz Carlton Hotel and is packed after 10am. We arrived here around 11am and there was absolutely no possibility to park, the street and parking were full, we drove around a bit but nobody was leaving so in the end we couldn't stay.
Decided to return the next day very early and at 9.30am we found some parking spots. Still more than half of the parking was already fullat that time.
The beach is wonderful, the sand is fine and such a good orange color, the water is turquoise and the currents are not strong at all due to the digue created. Part of the beach is reserved for hotel guests but the rest is open for public. Be sure to bring umbrella and sunscreen, even in November the sun is strong. There is a beach bar (from the hotel) where you can get drinks ( kinda expensive but worth it for the location)
The disadvantage: the beach is located way lower than the parking so at the end of the day you need to climb back some...
Read moreThe beach itself is beautiful, with golden sand imported from the Sahara and a peaceful cove setting sheltered from the wind. It’s a popular spot where you might even spot a celebrity! However, the experience is marred by several issues. Parking is a nightmare—the lot is tiny, and competition for spaces is intense. From the parking lot, you have to tackle a long walk and dangerous stairs, which are broken, slippery, and littered with trash like cigarette butts and tissues. The Ritz-Carlton elevator to the beach hasn’t worked for years, leaving non-hotel guests no choice but to navigate the hazardous stairs. It’s disappointing that such a luxury destination doesn’t maintain its facilities better. Regular cleaning and basic repairs to the stairs would make a huge difference. For a place associated with a world-renowned luxury hotel brand, more effort...
