I'll keep this one short. The service was off. After waiting 25 mins despite having a reservation. We were seated and not spoken to again for another 30 mins at which time I asked the front of house lady what was happening. We were very hungry at this stage and we asked could we just move to the lobby bar for a quick bite instead of waiting.

Her response was no, that she wanted us to dine here. Which we thought meant we were in for a treat....

The 2 margaritas we ordered arrived. No salt on the rim and with ice chips floating on top. We sent them back as they didn't taste great and weren't strained correctly and for €16 each, simply not good enough for a restaurant of this standard. The waiter later admitted to us that these were pre prepared early which is quite frankly embarrassing at that price. A staff member who worked at a tequila factory for a number of years then made us margaritas and they were delicious.

The food was honestly nothing to remark about, it was either bland and unseasoned or absolutely overpowering. It lacked any sort of balance and again waiting way longer than we should at a restaurant like this.

Desert was tasty though.

We were on half board so price wasn't an issue for us but if I was paying full price I'd have been annoyed at what...

A bit disappointed with Txoko. First is the ambience - it's situated literally next to the general pool and if there are still guests splashing around, it takes away from the overall atmosphere. Ordered the "Origen" beef which was 1.2kg - in its raw dry aged form it looked amazing, but in its grilled form it was unfortunately extremely disappointing. First off, after the first cut of the beef, the first cook was extremely rare and had to be reheated. Unfortunately, reheating does require some finesse to ensure the juices stay consistent, but when the steak came back, it was grey and incredibly dry and tasteless. No seasoning!! It is as if the chefs do not understand how to handle prime meats - and as this is the most expensive item on the list, it was an incredible disappointment and an insult to the beef and the cow!. I've had better steaks in a Sizzler and a Dennys and that's saying a lot - huge thumbs down. Skip this, don't go to this restaurant. Big disappointment in the RC. Try Verona for their steaks!...

Txoko, Abama has exceptional service and a wonderful ambience but unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing for a restaurant by a Michelin star chef. We ordered the tuna tartar, pear carpaccio, lamb croquettes for appys. The tuna tartare was delicious but sadly that was the only spot we enjoyed. The lamb croquettes were super bland, the pear carpaccio was also tastless. For mains we had the suckling lamb and the sea bass. The sea bass was good but the lamb was the worst lamb I have ever had. It was just a confused mess on the plate and not enjoyable at all. For dessert we had the brownie and the French toast (should have been for breakfast but we were starved). Those were fine but certainly not the level you would expect from a restaurant by a Michelin start chef and certainly not worth the amount of money you are paying for. Overall, pretty disappointing food, super expensive, no value for money but the service...

As we arrived, food was the forefront of our minds and recommended by the hotel staff Txoko was an absolute pleasure . One of the standout dishes I had the pleasure of trying was the lamb shank. It was a true masterpiece. The lamb was incredibly tender, falling off the bone with each bite, and the flavors were a delightful blend of savory herbs and spices. It was comfort food at its finest, and we loved every minute of it. As we had just landed this was what was needed. We were not disappointed. The croquettes were also a highlight of the meal. These little bites of heaven were perfectly crispy on the outside, giving way to a creamy and flavorful filling. Whether you choose the traditional ham and cheese or one of the other varieties, Dessert - French toast, there are no words The service was excellent, with a knowledgeable and attentive staff that added to the overall dining experience.

Not worth it for the price. Service was good, but the food and drink fell short. The bread basket they served was ok, not fresh out or the oven or anything done to make it taste anything, so you're just sitting there gnawing on some dry unflavored bread until the food arrives. The charcuterie board was a little boring, I think its the same cured meat they used for the breakfast buffet in the hotel. But this time you get 6 tiny pieces of 4 different meats. The meat was chewy and the mashed potatoes was really tasteless. Sauce was pretty good, but they give you very little. Some of the tartars where good, not alot of taste on some of them. Dident really wow us with alot of flavours. The basic tomato and cheese was the one with most flavour.
