Finca Amalur Alabardero — Attraction in Marbella

It’s not that my wedding was bad I was just disappointed with a few bits.

First of all the place was absolutely stunning I was very pleased with the venue and the staff were lovely

However, I was disappointed with the wedding day announcements i.e. all be standing for the bride, food is about to be served, the please welcome Mr&Mrs for their first dance. No one did that. So the guest were unorganized and confused - It didn’t ruin the day but it would have been nice to have a host that communicated and made announcement for and didn’t ask me to tell everyone or just hope they noticed us cutting the cake.

We had emails demanding money – which I had already sent and provided proof of sending – finally resulting in my father in law paying by credit card on the day to then just to have the payment sent back 2 days after – I understand they need to be paid but had they communicated with me sooner regarding the final touches to the wedding is would have sent the payment weeks ago. I just found it a shame they only wanted to communicate with me about payment then brush off any requests/concerns I had. The only focus was being pay any other communication was slow

Another slightly annoying thing was the extra cost they tried to add on the end. 100euros for a microphone and 280euros for extra flowers we didn’t want/need.

The other thing was the language barrier – not their fault as I don’t speak Spanish but I found every question I had was just responded to with yes – then it became clear there was a barrier as I asked for things like a chair to be moves somewhere semi-private so my sister could breast feed which seemed fine at the time but then when I arrived nothing – Same with the seats for the ceremony we have 70 guests but 80 seats out again not a huge deal but I addressed this the day before the wedding and thought they understood but clear not.

Also, I was extremely disappointed with the DJ recommended by the venue 550 euros - He literally played the Spotify playlist I sent as a guide for what kind of music we liked and a few guest requests. Then when the playlist ran out he started playing the same songs again… He had a speaker and a phone I cant understand it

Overall I had a really good day the food was good the venue is a nice place it was the people around me who made my wedding

This venue needs someone with good communication...

I had an incredible time at my wedding. The place is stunning, the food is top tier, the service of the waiters is excellent. The only problem but the biggest is the lack of security.

They do not have cameras, therefore if things get stolen you can not look at footage or figure out who stole. During my wedding my sister in laws purse was stolen and my cousins sunglasses as well. She lost her phone, wallet, glasses - when we went to try to figure it out they said their insurance did not cover stolen items. Makes no sense since the whole point of renting a place like this is because it’s a private, closed event where you think you’re safe.

No one is watching the doors so anyone can come in and steal or even the workers.

If you are planning an event here I would negotiate a private security service for the night. It was a great so I would consider doing so.

They only positive is that it was my immediate families belonging and not my husbands boss and their wives who brought extremely...

We postponed our May 2021 wedding due to restrictions in place in Spain. With us unable to legally enter Spain as put in place by the Spanish Minister, this was not announced to be lifted until 1 week before our planned date. We hadn't even been able to visit the venue since booking, nor had we been able to carry out food tasting to select the menu for our guests. We agreed a new 2022 date but the venue wanted us to sign an amendment to our contract whereby we would have to agree to pay the new 2022 rates, which from my point of view is wrong - considering it was not our fault we had to postpone and we already had a contract in place that they were unable to fulfil due to their local covid restrictions. They have been very unaccomodating and we have not been able to come to any kind of settlement/agreement - they have kept all the money we had paid them. I would therefore be extremely careful when considering booking this venue...
