Had the pleasure of attending the Raven Art Gallery opening by Julian & Gloria Raven. It was a fantastic event that was well attended by many people inc Ian Blackwell of Essential Magazine and a famous Photographer Johnny Gates andd a handful of movers, shakers afficicandos in the Marbella art world. Julian’s creativity and art is off the charts and will be surely hanging on some of the very special trophy properties on the Costa del Sol especially in places in the Golden Triangle of Marbella, Benahavis and Estepona. Julian Raven’s very large abstract paintings would compliment many of the Contemporary mansions in La Zagaleta, Sierra Blanca, Camojan And other special urbanizations And would even be at home in Developments like Granados de Banus, Laguna de Banus, Monteros Playa and other 5 star Urbanizations. I highly recommend anyone looking for existing paintings or even Special paintings to be commissioned to visit Ravens Art Gallery. To quote my late husband, David Bodlak, “Art is Art… everything else is everything else.” I encountered Julian Raven at his new art gallery/studio in Marbella recently. Julian was once an art student of Davíd Bodlak ‘s here in Spain and he has not lost his deep awareness of the importance of art in his life. He paints what he sees and feels with great raw energy and passion in a very expressive way. I would call his work POST-MODERN because of the way he re-visits and reinterprets movements like Abstract Expressionism and Impressionism in his own way.
