WORST GOLF COURSE EVER – IT RUINED MY HOLIDAYS!
I played the first half of Santa Clara golf course. At the end, I noticed THE BELONGINGS IN MY GOLF BAG HAD BEEN STOLEN. That was my watch and the cash in my wallet. THIS GOLF COURSE HAS SERIOUS SECURITY ISSUE. You are forced to get far away from your golf bag on multiple occasions. Hole number 3 is a clear danger as you climb up for your hit a tee shot with no visibility on your buggy. But there are other areas that were dangerous thinking back. Still the thief clearly had to be very efficient and given how quick he had to be to find that exact side pocket it makes me wonder if maybe someone from staff could have seen me put the watch in the bag at the start of the course and could have alerted the thief… I became aware that thief is a well-known problem at Santa Clara. Apparently, management tries to address this by offering a locker at the start. We were NOT offered lockers despite what they tried to argue – which was a LIE. They did not show any desire to compensate us in any way nor replied to any of the emails we sent them. This experience ruined my family holidays. I had to go to the police station and was stress during my entire holiday. I tried to talk with the golf course but they ignored me… STAY AWAY from Santa Clara Golf course if you don’t want to risk getting your belongings stolen and to face a...
Read moreI wish I had something good to say about this course. Yes the greens were in great shape and the vistas are spectacular. While the young woman behind the counter was friendly the pro shop did not open until 8 a.m. My tee time was 8:10 so really no time to hit balls. Unfortunately and I realize it is my fault. I rushed down to the range and put in my 1 euro coin to hit a quick few. However I put in my lucky 1941 quarter by mistake which my uncle carried during WWII. I rushed back to the desk to tell her. She assured she would tell the manager and I could get it back when he opened up the coin box. Well I went back every day for the next two weeks and got nothing but runaround.
I need to write a correction to my previous post. I apologize for the harshness of my criticism of Santa Clara. Yesterday I received an email from the club that they had found my coin. YEAH, I never thought I would see it again. Thank you Rodolfo for finding the coin and living up to your promise to find it. Your course has some beautiful holes and the greens are in very good shape. I look forward to the day when I can return to Spain and play Santa Clara again. I promise not to put my coin where it does not...

My wife and I golfed, at Santa Clara , on Sunday 30th of April 2023 , And after we went back to our hotel we discovered that the purse of my wife’s was missing , where we had a telephone and my watch and some cash , (( taken from a big bag full of caps , towel , and couple of t shirts we bought from the pro shop )) , only that small purse vanished . There was few deserted spots on the course , was not busy , as we golfed in the afternoon, and you have to keep the cart away from where you are teeing, on some holes . Going to the rest rooms , around hole # 7 is an absolute danger, Talking to the receptionist at the club , he said that , yes somebody could have snatch it from your buggy , and it seems that like this incident occurred before The management did not warn us , they did not offer a safe deposit box , And they reacted as if, it was another fact of life . If you are planning to golf at Santa Clara golf club Marbella , good luck , and be extra careful, do not leave your buggy unattended, not even for...
