I never leave bad review or at least try not to, however when I feel other customers should be warned about a company I feel I should.
Maisons du monde are a beautiful store, the products are a reasonable price however when things go wrong you see a companies true colours.
We originally ordered our sofa in November, since then we have had three and four sets of legs until finally today we said no more.
Customer service/ Complaints department have offered us three options: 1. 250 euro discount and keep sofa 2. credit note and return then finally when I said this was not enough we got offered a refund. 250 Euros is not sufficient for a faulty sofa, I do not want a credit note for a store that has failed X3 times to help me, so a refund will have to be suffice if no compensation can be given.
I hate to say it got this far, however after three faulty/ damaged sofas enough is enough. We have had to drive to the store X3 times, arrange alternative sleeping arrangements for family staying at christmas, let alone the amount and time and stress we have given waiting for deliveries / collections. I have never once got angry and have always tried to accommodate the store, but to be offered NOTHING in way of compensation after this was a little disappointing.... The staff have been lovely however their hands are tied by higher management to actually be able to rectify our problem.
I would seriously consider buying from here for anything substantial as whilst the store is great when everything works, it is a disaster when things go wrong and you need genuine help.
I wish I didn't have to write this and I was writing about how they have helped and gone over and above to rectify a problem...

They ship your items only when all of them have arrived in their warehouse instead of shipping following availability. I have ordered a bunch of garden furniture mid April. I made sure to only purchase items "in stock" as I needed them for the spring and summer. Unfortunately they only give you a delivery time "from such date" and only after you have proceeded with the payment. Unfortunately, I didn't pay too much attention assuming that, all the gears being in stock, only low inventory objects would be delivered late. Unfortunately, after a long tchat this morning with an agent (so one month and a half after purchase), I 've been informed that they await for your entire order to be available before proceeding with the shipment. In the end, I will eventually (since she still couldn't gave a me a delivery date) receive my order in a couple of weeks at best, which will be 2 months after purchase for items all advertised "in stock". Their strategy is always to give you a delivery date "from the XXX"... and then it can last forever.

Read moreIn february we ordered 4 dining chairs at MdM in Palma de Mallorca, unfortunately there was not 1 on stock in the material we wanted (new model) so we had to decide from a picture. You pay the full amount, including payment for delivery and then we had to wait for 10,5 weeks before it would be delivered. Several times we received emails from Maisons de Monde stating that the order was on schedule and we would receive it on the estimated date. On the day of delivery I called the transport company to ask for the ETA that day. They told me that it would take 3-4 weeks more before it would be delivered. The chairs were already in Barcelona, but apparently they wait until they have a truckload full before they continue transporting to Mallorca. No excuse, no information beforehand and no trial to get this quicker to Mallorca. In the mean time in the shop there was still no example of the real chair. I was willing to give 1 more week time to deliver but this was not possible. For me this was a reason to cancel the order. If Maisons du Monde can not organize a quicker delivery (I paid € 40 for delivery, which is already quite unusual if you want to buy it in a store, it is not my fault that there isn't any stock), they...
