Actually an art gallery rather than a museum, with a good but small collection, almost all modern/contemporary, and all wonderfully displayed in a clean, modern space. Very quiet - we had the place to ourselves. My favourites were the two large, angry (to my mind!) Tàpies pieces; they really made the visit worthwhile. Note that entry is free throughout 2025, in celebration of the Museum’s 20th anniversary. Also, look out for special exhibitions - we were slightly disappointed there wasn’t more to see. The museum is on the higher northern edge of the University campus, with wonderful views across the green campus. It has a lovely restaurant (also very quiet!) but sadly they weren’t able to offer anything to appeal to my vegetarian partner. Read moreThis museum was out of town and a good 30 minute walk from our hotel. So we debated a bit weather we should bother. We decided to go as my wife is a fan of modern art. To be honest most of the time I don't get it, some of the stuff I have seen in various museums I have seen a child could have done so I don't get what all the fuss is about. But what transformed my understanding was the very knowledgeable guide who gave us an insight into the significance of the important pieces and with that explanation transfor6my understanding of at least the pieces they are exhibiting. Well worth the excursion but make sure you take the...
