The beach has fine sand at one end and is rockier at the other, and is very popular in summer. Many people come to this absolutely paradisiacal natural environment: young and old residents, families and tourist couples, everyone is seen in Cala d'Hort.
Protected by a cliff, it is located at the end of a steep slope where the main access road ends. In the busier months the road becomes a one-lane road due to cars parked on the hard shoulder, so get up early to avoid walking uphill to get back to your car after a hard day drinking! Sun!
It is a very nice beach to surf on windy days, since the wildest waves hit the shore with force. There is also a small boutique that is open during high season and sells designer beachwear. Cala d'Hort beach is completely smoke-free, in an attempt to keep the sand pristine for all who visit.

As for the beach itself, its the worst beach I have ever been by far. A large section of the beach is actually just a slab of conrete with a very this layer of sand on top. I was absolutely shocked by this. The waters edge is covered with small sharp rocks throughout its entirety. Once beyond your ankles, the small rocks turn into large, bowling size rocks covering the entire ocean floor making touching the ground near impossible. Lastly, the water is filled with jellyfish. We saw about 30 stings in 2 hours having sat near the lifeguard station.
