We stayed in this hotel for two nights. Starting with the check in, I have never experienced such an undermotivated staff member. The guy was explaining us uninterested and chewing his gum the restaurant options. After our arrival, we took a shower and were naked on the bed when someone entered the room. I yelled NO and then the person left without saying nothing. You could clearly see that there were guests in the room, our luggage was at the entrance, after I complained about it at the reception, the lady told me that it was the director with other customers to show a room. Sorry, but if you make a mistake like that, you apologize immediately or make a small detail to the guests. It was very unprofessional of the hotel director not even to apologize even the day after.
At the next morning we went to the breakfast, the buffet was alright and nicely prepared. You had to ask the service employees for coffee and egg dishes, they wouldn't ask by themself. What bothered us most about the breakfast was that the waiters were talking really loudly inside the restaurant, that was not very nice keeping in mind that customers listen to you.
The room was ok but the walls are very thin so we heard all the people walking by in the night. However, the cleanliness was very simple. As soon as you showered, you could see a heart in the coated glass mirror that was most likely made by guests who had previously stayed in the room, a little glass cleaner would have been an advantage here, also there was a lot of dust on the walls.
The facility itself was well maintained and the garden beautifully done. What we found a little bit gross were the sunbeds at the pool, these were covered with a bed linen. In our opinion, they were not changed and it didn't look very nice.
We had lunch on our departure day, food and service could definitely improve. The guests next to us complained about their pesto pasta, so we were not the only ones unhappy.
Before booking this hotel I read the comments on booking.com and overall they were good so we gave it a try. Would we go back again to Petunia? No, the price is definitely not in proportion to the service...
Read moreI’m really sorry to leave such a bad review for such an amazing location and hotel. But reality is that in 20 years travelling around the world I never experienced such a bad level of service and ways to screw you up price and charges wise, especially in a 5 stars hotel! Don’t get me wrong, there’s some lovely people in the staff: a very kind waiter from Mallorca, Noelia in the reception, the guys carrying the luggage, Alessandro in the rooftop, some other waiters… But: The level of service is absolutely far away from a 5* hotel As I read in other reviews, if you speak Spanish some of the stuff (not all of them) treat you worse coz they go after the foreigners - the richer you look the more they praise you The dining areas are a mess - takes hours to get an order, often gets messed up, some waitresses stay there doing nothing and talking about their problems with their boss instead of serving you - just terrible and unacceptable Some of the personnel gave me attitude, was super rude - again unacceptable At check out, we were told there was a 30€ charge per hour to keep the room (insane). They offered a courtesy room for 30’. At the 30th minutes they came and kicked us out badly. In all this, the room we were in was empty and our luggage had been left there. None of this makes sense The restaurants are incredibly expensive, prices make no sense. One slice of bread is 5€… Positives: views, hotel, free upgrade to a beautiful room; and again some of the workers are really lovely. And, to be fair, the hotel manager called me after the facts and apologized showing willingness to fix the issues. So hopefully by when you read this everything...

I recently stayed at Petunia. The hotel is well located, with beautiful views and decent service — but it’s not quite the exceptional experience I had expected based on other reviews. For the price I paid (€ 1.250!!!), I honestly expected more in terms of comfort, attention to detail, and overall value.
What really left a bad impression was the pricing. I booked directly with the hotel, assuming it would give me the best available rate. However, during my stay, I happened to check the hotel’s website and was shocked to see that the exact same room category, for similar dates and days of the week — even during July and August — was being offered at nearly half the price I had paid.
When I contacted the hotel, they claimed my dates fell into a period of “exceptionally high demand.” But this was early June, not a holiday, and honestly quieter than what I’d expect in the middle of summer. That explanation didn’t make much sense.
Petunia is a good hotel, but certainly not good enough to justify such a lack of transparency or such a steep price difference. I left with the impression that I had been overcharged for no clear reason — and that’s not the feeling you want to take from a vacation.
