We stayed in this hotel for two nights. Starting with the check in, I have never experienced such an undermotivated staff member. The guy was explaining us uninterested and chewing his gum the restaurant options. After our arrival, we took a shower and were naked on the bed when someone entered the room. I yelled NO and then the person left without saying nothing. You could clearly see that there were guests in the room, our luggage was at the entrance, after I complained about it at the reception, the lady told me that it was the director with other customers to show a room. Sorry, but if you make a mistake like that, you apologize immediately or make a small detail to the guests. It was very unprofessional of the hotel director not even to apologize even the day after.

At the next morning we went to the breakfast, the buffet was alright and nicely prepared. You had to ask the service employees for coffee and egg dishes, they wouldn't ask by themself. What bothered us most about the breakfast was that the waiters were talking really loudly inside the restaurant, that was not very nice keeping in mind that customers listen to you.

The room was ok but the walls are very thin so we heard all the people walking by in the night. However, the cleanliness was very simple. As soon as you showered, you could see a heart in the coated glass mirror that was most likely made by guests who had previously stayed in the room, a little glass cleaner would have been an advantage here, also there was a lot of dust on the walls.

The facility itself was well maintained and the garden beautifully done. What we found a little bit gross were the sunbeds at the pool, these were covered with a bed linen. In our opinion, they were not changed and it didn't look very nice.

We had lunch on our departure day, food and service could definitely improve. The guests next to us complained about their pesto pasta, so we were not the only ones unhappy.

Before booking this hotel I read the comments on booking.com and overall they were good so we gave it a try. Would we go back again to Petunia? No, the price is definitely not in proportion to the service...

I’m really sorry to leave such a bad review for such an amazing location and hotel. But reality is that in 20 years travelling around the world I never experienced such a bad level of service and ways to screw you up price and charges wise, especially in a 5 stars hotel! Don’t get me wrong, there’s some lovely people in the staff: a very kind waiter from Mallorca, Noelia in the reception, the guys carrying the luggage, Alessandro in the rooftop, some other waiters… But: The level of service is absolutely far away from a 5* hotel As I read in other reviews, if you speak Spanish some of the stuff (not all of them) treat you worse coz they go after the foreigners - the richer you look the more they praise you The dining areas are a mess - takes hours to get an order, often gets messed up, some waitresses stay there doing nothing and talking about their problems with their boss instead of serving you - just terrible and unacceptable Some of the personnel gave me attitude, was super rude - again unacceptable At check out, we were told there was a 30€ charge per hour to keep the room (insane). They offered a courtesy room for 30’. At the 30th minutes they came and kicked us out badly. In all this, the room we were in was empty and our luggage had been left there. None of this makes sense The restaurants are incredibly expensive, prices make no sense. One slice of bread is 5€… Positives: views, hotel, free upgrade to a beautiful room; and again some of the workers are really lovely. And, to be fair, the hotel manager called me after the facts and apologized showing willingness to fix the issues. So hopefully by when you read this everything...

Not worth the price — and poor pricing transparency

I recently stayed at Petunia. The hotel is well located, with beautiful views and decent service — but it’s not quite the exceptional experience I had expected based on other reviews. For the price I paid (€ 1.250!!!), I honestly expected more in terms of comfort, attention to detail, and overall value.

What really left a bad impression was the pricing. I booked directly with the hotel, assuming it would give me the best available rate. However, during my stay, I happened to check the hotel’s website and was shocked to see that the exact same room category, for similar dates and days of the week — even during July and August — was being offered at nearly half the price I had paid.

When I contacted the hotel, they claimed my dates fell into a period of “exceptionally high demand.” But this was early June, not a holiday, and honestly quieter than what I’d expect in the middle of summer. That explanation didn’t make much sense.

Petunia is a good hotel, but certainly not good enough to justify such a lack of transparency or such a steep price difference. I left with the impression that I had been overcharged for no clear reason — and that’s not the feeling you want to take from a vacation.

Look for...

Our wedding blessing at The Petunia Hotel was nothing short of magical. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Es Vedra, the location is truly stunning. We chose the Pergola area, which offered the natural, unspoiled Ibizan landscape we had dreamed of. The friendly team at Petunia were incredibly accommodating, providing separate spaces for us to get ready and even a steamer to smooth out the creases in my dress. Our ceremony was full of love and laughter, followed by a rooftop dinner that felt like a dream. We sipped champagne, enjoyed a delicious fish supper, and listened to a fantastic local band that set the perfect tone for the evening. If you’re planning a small wedding in Ibiza, The Petunia Hotel is a wonderful choice, you won’t be disappointed. We stayed for three nights and made the most of the shuttle service to explore nearby beaches for food and drinks. The pool area was spotless, our breakfasts and lunches were delicious, and the décor throughout the hotel blends traditional Ibizan charm with a fresh, modern feel. We also met lovely guests from all over the world, which made the experience even more special. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Petunia for making our time so unforgettable. Helen & Chris

Petunia is a beautiful property in a stunningly picturesque location. Stated 4 nights, felt like a lifetime, in a good way. Firstly, it's a kid free hotel. Nice for couples or a quiet getaway. It is quiet and very chilled with a grown-up crowd. Once you get settled, it is hard to not just give in and relax. The restaurant setup is OK and good enough to make up for its secluded location as there isn't much else nearby. Which I personally like. Rooms are lovely and big. Like a small apartment. Although there isn't a kitchenette in the room, from the images it looked like there was. I had a petunia suite on a lower floor (better view on upper floor rooms) but still lovely, and you can see the view of Es Vedra from everywhere in the property. The TV is a modern setup with most major TV viewing apps that you'd want, but I reckon you won't watch TV. Room service stops at 5pm, which is a shame considering the lack of other options. The gym is tiny. The Italian restaurant is only open for lunch and the other restaurant for dinner. There is a shuttle to and from all the nearby beaches which all have restaurants, which is a nice touch and needed. I had a lovely, dreamy stay and would definitely consider it again.

As a first time traveler to Ibiza in my early 30’s, I wanted a hotel that could capture the natural beauty and energy of the island. My husband and I were blown away. The view of Es Vedrà was stunning but beyond that I could tell that they put a lot of thought into conserving the natural flora and fauna of Ibiza. The room was spectacular and we had a private rooftop to see the sunset as well as an outdoor shower. The pool was fabulous and the food was amazing at all of the restaurants, as was the service. Yes, it’s a bit further out than some hotels but taxis made it very easy to still go out at night and coming back to quiet was essential to getting our rest. We will 10000% be back. This was the second Beaumier property we’ve stayed at and it won’t be the last.
