Club de Golf de Son Servera — Attraction in Son Servera

It had rained a slight drizzle the night before and in the morning before I arrived but the fairways was "water sick" in some places and I was asked to drive my buggy only on the ruff. The ruffs was extremely patchy in several places so the buggy bounced back and forth. And when finally on the green, the greens had more sand then grass on them so the stimp can't have been more than 2-4. The back 9 holes was shut down so I was only allowed to play the front 9. I honestly can't see how full price can be charged when the course felt so run down like this, it was basically in worse shape than the cheap pay and play courses in sweden. This is not a tourist golf spot where people will come and appreciate everything in their happy holiday mood. This is a serious golf club, with youth groups, teaching Pro's and if you are lucky with tour pros and local celebrities, too. So people go here and come back for good reasons.

So why all of it here - I think it is because the club wants to be known for their good golf course in very nice condition. They offer decent practising facilities and just flourish what they have got as a good team work of all staff from reception, greenkeeping and restaurant.

We have experienced nice hospitality, a course with two faces - one very playable and open parkland while the other face is called the Pine Trap for a reason.

I hadn’t intended on playing Son Servera but with advantage of buggies and relatively quiet courses I found myself with the time to spare and fortunately managed to get on by just turning up.

I’m so glad I did as it was a little gem. As you head to the 2nd you come to the “Pine trap” a group of holes through the pine valley with views across all not the harbour. I’m was obviously a poplar course and definitely the slowest round I’ve played in Mallorca so far but it gave me time to absorb the surroundings.
