Sitting in the Molina de Inca garden right now! What a beautiful hidden gem just a 1/2 hour stroll out of Torremolinos. 3 euros each to get in, but that's really nothing is it? And it helps with the upkeep of the place. They are slowly renovating sections of the old flour mill and the little museum within it is very interesting. (You'll have to use Google translate with your phone camera to translate the info boards, which are all in Spanish). A stroll around the botanical garden can take as long or as short as you like. You could probably get around it in 1/2 an hour or so at pace but we've been here for a couple of hours just ambling around, sitting on a bench now and again in the shade and just chilling out! There's running water all around the gardens, fountains and statues, waterfalls and most plants and trees have marker boards with their variety. It is always a shame to see birds in cages, but if they are involved in rehabilitation here, then good for them. When we first arrived there was some kind of event going on with hoards of school children and it was packed! But they've gone now and the place is serene and peaceful, very Zen! Highly recommend coming here, make...
Read moreThere is absolutely NO WAY I would have visited if I knew beforehand it involved animal cruelty! So very sad to see many beautiful birds in tiny cages :( So many Owls, nocturnal animals, in tiny cages surrounded by screaming children and light. There were distressed Parrots that were missing feathers. So sad, how can people think that this is ok!??? How can parents bring their children to witness such cruelty??? Beautiful innocent birds held captive to horrible nasty humans!! Horrible!!!
Edit: The property using the excuse that the birds born in captivity is pathetic. Owls are nocturnal birds, the cages are far too cramped for the birds that are imprisoned there, the birds seem stressed and sad. If this is how you're educating children then this is even more appalling, children need to know that animals deserve love and care just like humans. I see many people are unhappy in these comments and this company is continuing in ignorance. You should...
Read moreA wonderful little oasis of calm, very easy to access, you just need to know where it is! We loved that history met modernity in a gorgeous spot with some interesting cage birds and raptors as well. They did not do a falconry display when we were there today (17th May) but I have been told that they do them sometimes. The grounds of the garden were immaculate and it absolutely does a credit to the Torremolinos Council how lovely this place is. I visited today with a Women's Group and will definitely return with my husband. At Eur 2.50 to enter the gardens it's a very low price. Yes, the gardens aren't huge and one hour is certainly enough to walk around, but they are a lovely place to stop, and the Los Brocales restaurant a 5 min walk away (walk back down the sandy road towards the main road and it is on your left) serves very generous portions with a drink and dessert included for just ten euros!...
