He has been acquired by Lord Indra with his enthusiasts. Indra became happy and pleaded Lord Kumara swamy to get married to his little princess Devasena and the God commonly agreed. The heavenly wedding was held at Kumara parvatha with Margashira shudha shashti. Gods including Brahma, Rudra, Vishnu and several other deities put together for that wedding and inauguration service connected with Shanmukha intended for which rich waters connected with various sacred streams were brought. Long term review Been going here since 1997/98 I have seen a small quite temple become a bustling tourist centre😞 The entrance has moved to the east was on the west once. The outer corridor/circumabulating path was much smaller ; less than 5-6ft. The inner quadrangle was open to the sky; now all closed. The sarpa samskara used to happen here has moved too ; to it’s own place. The river around used to be pristine clear all year around ; now is filled with garbage and plastic toys and clothes. There used to be a single old bridge. The approach road much smaller , just 6/7 ft tarred and a few small shops mostly selling puja items ; now it’s a 12/14 ft wide road with so many vehicles and the typical shops see around all temples 😩anywhere else. A small and quiet temple behind Kukke Subrahmanya temple. There is a river flowing in front of the temple - it was unclean and had less water. It was not that crowded and we were able to walk around the temple fairly easily. It was not crowded even inside. Adi means First. So, people doing Sarpa Samaskara pooja go here first before starting. Even for normal visits, its better to come to this temple before going to the main temple. Beside, the temple is a small park which leads to Sarpa Samaskara hall. Few guest houses are present around the temple at walkable distance itself.

Peaceful ! Temple is located amidst lush greenery and deity is so powerful and yet so fascinating. Lord Subramanya Swamy situated in the form of ant hill. There's a local sating that subramanya Swamy darshana doesn't get completed unless devotties visit Maadi Subramanya temple. Temple comolea us small compared to main temple and small stream passes next to temple and beautiful garden is adjacent to temple.

Must go if you are visiting kukke subramanya. A tributary of kumaradhara, darpana theertha flows infront of the temple...there is a belief that doing some sankalp and piling stones here will grant your wish. Instead of putting out the already piled ones and building their own, rather can collect the stones from the river bed and make the pile as there are plenty for everyone to pick and stack.
