Domaine Croix Duplex — Attraction in Bourg-en-Lavaux

I absolutely do not recommend visiting this winery. The staff are snobby and rude. When we arrived we asked if we could do a wine tasting, the blonde woman working immediately responded with “yes we do tastings, but we have no room for you outside. All of the empty tables are reserved.” Despite the attitude, we were happy to sit inside as there was still a beautiful view through the windows. The indoor tables had menus with lists of wine on them. We opted to order one of the bottles that were listed for 15-18 CHF on the menu, rather than the tasting since it was 20 CHF. When we went to pay, we were charged 31 CHF for the bottle of wine. When we said that our menu said “17.5” the woman working told us that was the “takeaway price”, and that we were looking at the “takeaway menu”. To be clear, she literally pointed to the bottle on the takeaway menu when we were ordering as we asked her for a suggestion, which had the “17.5 CHF price next to it”. We tried to tell her that this was unclear, and we had picked it over the wine tasting since we were trying to save money, and she became extremely rude and unsympathetic. She claimed that she brought us the “dining menu” so we should have known; however, this was when we asked her if we could also buy food, and she never indicated to us that there was different priced wine on that menu. Overall, the wine was decent but the staff made it an extremely unpleasant experience. There are tons of other lovely wineries in the area that have equally delicious wine and great ambiences I highly recommend...

We visited Domaine Croix Duplex on a sunny morning while exploring the Lavaux wine terraces. The location is stunning—perched above Grandvaux with sweeping views of Lake Geneva and surrounding vineyards. It’s an easy walk from the Grandvaux train station and sits perfectly along the vineyard trail.

We enjoyed a relaxing tasting on the outdoor terrace, sampling their local Chasselas and rosé wines. The host was friendly and took time to explain each variety, even with the language barrier. The vineyard itself is peaceful and scenic—perfect for unwinding after a vineyard stroll.

Highly recommend stopping here for wine tasting if you’re exploring Lavaux. Great wines, beautiful view, and a very local experience.

🕒 Tip: Best to come mid-morning or around lunch hour for a quieter...

I have been wine tasting around the world. Worst experience today at this establishment. We made reservations over 6 weeks ago. Showed up and there was a group of 20+ people in a wine tasting and food tasting experience who had complete preference over us. No problem great for them. We were placed in the corner and clearly secondary to them. We were told they ran out of the cheese for our tasting (probably because of the big party) so we switched to just a wine tasting. Then waited 27 minutes for our tasting in which we walked inside for our wine and told they would come find us. After being served all our wines at once we were charged 52 CHF FOR 4 small pairings each. I am so saddened to leave this review but damn I am so disappointed . There are sooo many better places in the area to check out! Don’t waste your time...
