Do NOT stay at this hotel. Where do I begin? 1) What kind of 4 ⭐️, charging what it charges, closes its reception at 18 hrs and has NO staff in the hotel until 07:30 the following morning? No restaurant. No bar. And no advice in the rooms on how to get something to eat/drink. In business meetings all day, I emerged to find a voice message left at 15:45 by another Hotel (Metropole) saying that if I did not arrive at my hotel before 18hrs, I would have to check in for my hotel at the hotel Metropole. Huge surprise for me. That would have meant a 4 km round trip from my hotel to another hotel (!) and given that it was spilling rain, two taxi rides. Or, with my car, trying to find impossible parking in central Geneva in order to check in for my hotel at another hotel, and then returning again to my hotel. Crazy 2) As it happened, I arrived at Hotel du Parc des E.V « on time » at 17:30 only to find no one at reception and a locked entrance door. I got wet while ringing the bell three times before the receptionist finally came to let me in. No apology was offered. 3) I checked in and asked the receptionist to please book me a taxi for 18:45. No taxi arrived. It arrived exactly a half hour later; I think she said quarter past seven instead of quarter to seven. This meant that I had ordered an Uber that arrived at the same time as the other taxi and I had to pay a charge for the cancelled UBER. And I was very late for my dinner appointment. 4) I was asked to fill in a card for breakfast in my room (which had to be left at reception and not hung outside my room door, as is customary). I wrote 08:00 hrs as the time I needed the service on the card. Nothing came at 08:00. I called reception, who said “ah, you would like it served now?” It finally came at 08:20 and was for two people, not for one. 5) Upon leaving, no help was offered with bags. 6) The shower was not clean (see photos). 7) There were stains on the wall and some of the furniture ( see photos) 8) Note that the avenue through the park is very poorly lit at night and walking to the lakeside in Winter is to be avoided. 9) Parking for guests is not clearly signposted. |Unfortunately. The hotel is absolutely not up to the 4 ⭐️ standard, and is greatly overpriced given the lack of service. A very poor...
Read moreThis is a follow-up to the first visit earlier this summer at the restaurant at the Hotel du Parc des Eaux Vivies in Geneva. This time, my wife and I recently visited to experience their Sunday brunch.||||VERY happy to report that the brunch is truly a rich & sumptuous dining experience! It is presented in a grand buffet offering a wide range of dishes - various types of quiche, beef, pasta, seafood, salads, fruit and deserts, really too many to list here. Great champagne and wine. All of this with tables on the outdoor terrace with a magnificent view of Lake Geneva.||||We were taken care of by Christophe, who made us feel VERY welcome and went out of his way to ensure our visit was memorable.||||Even though the brunch is a bit pricey, it is well worth it. The experience was the best brunch since my move to Geneva in 2015. Highly recommended, but booking in advance is strongly suggested. A great way to spend a...
