I had an offensive experience / 인종차별주의자직원 있음 / J'ai eu une expérience offensive
I went to Grindelwald-First - Top of Adventure and did two activities, And I met a very RUDE staff at mountain cart.
I was in a queue for waiting to ride a cart. And suddenly someone hit my helmet few times quite hard and I feel pain and dizzy. At the first I thought that my companion pull me a frank. But It was a staff, so I asked him that ‘it was you who tapped my helmet’ politly and he acted like he didn’t get it so I asked that again and he said he did that to check my helmet. I felt so uncomfortable but I had to ride a cart because I have a companion waited me in Grindelwald so I just pass though him.
But I think it was very aggressive and overreacting for the security check. Decisively, he did it only to me, not to other guests, and I was an only asian girl in that group. It was very offensive experience and I can relate this situation with racism.
Expect for that, every thing was perfect and I loved panorama and activities !
Read moreAn amazing location in Switzerland with a variety of views and fun activities. The mountain kart, however, is extremely dangerous, so I would recommend avoiding it at all costs! I participated in this activity during my summer visit (2022).
During the activity, the weather changed from super sunny to fast and heavy rain. Apart from instructions on how to use the kart, there were no warnings about weather disruption or safety except to wear the helmet provided. You must sign a waiver that outlines the possibility of injuries, but it does not advise you to stop karting during heavy rain or anything of the sort. There are no barriers on the edges of the track, so if you lose control you will be hanging on for dear life over the edge of the mountain! I witnessed this twice, and saw how severely injured those individuals were, so I walked the rest of the track for fear of falling over (as it began to rain, I realised this would be the safest option anyway). The track was not marked with warnings of its dangers or staff were not scattered about to help in case of an accident. Accidents like these seem to occur quite frequently. There is a number at the bottom of the form for you to call, but if you are alone, this is not feasible.
One person who did fall lost their passport, money and phone during the process. Luckily, there were others nearby on the track that stopped to help. Only after several were injured did the staff decide to stop and close the activity temporarily until the weather condition improved, this was without informing participants already on the track.
Very shocking! I am completely stunned that children as young as over 10/11 are allowed to participate in this activity!
Nevertheless, I highly suggest the flying eagle activity and the cable cars, and the beautiful metal bridge for a wonderful view and a more safer...
Read moreI saw that this event was suitable for kids and decide to sign my family up for it. But it is really unsafe especially for people who do not know how to control their speed with brakes and manoeuvre the cart properly. My mom cart overturned and my brother rolled down a hill. Very dangerous.
Thankfully the staff were very nice, helpful and concern about the riders’ safety. They were not concerned about my brother’s at all - instead they were concerned about his well-being.
To improve safety of the riders, this activity should be properly advertised on the website by not understating the risk involved. The safety briefing could also be improved by emphasising on using the brakes constantly. A safety briefing video in different languages can also be created to be replayed while queuing so that people have a clear idea on the risk involved to help them decide if they want to take the risk. In addition, this will also allow people to better understand safety measure that they have failed to catch the first time. Otherwise, safety briefing can be done in smaller groups (
