Visiting this destination in Switzerland ranks among the most delightful experiences one can have. It's a place where you can truly immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring mountain vistas, take leisurely strolls along the mountainside bridge, and, of course, capture memorable photographs with the majestic Swiss Alps as your backdrop.
However, it's important to note that this location tends to be quite crowded, and you'll likely find queues forming for that iconic mountaintop photo opportunity. There are also waiting lines for various attractions throughout the area. Therefore, when planning your visit, I recommend selecting only two activities in advance. It's unlikely that you'll have sufficient time to enjoy all the available options due to the crowds.
Furthermore, I suggest arriving at the summit early in the morning. This strategic timing will help you avoid the peak congestion and lengthy wait times. In some seasons, it may be prudent to make advance online reservations for certain activities. However, exercise caution not to overbook, as excessive crowds can hinder your enjoyment, preventing you from experiencing all the attractions. If you do arrive early in the morning, proceed directly to your chosen activity to make the most of your visit, and later return to the summit to bask in the splendor of this...
Read moreThe way tickets or adventure packs work is confusing and can ruin your day. So read the following. Be Careful when booking a ticket or adventure pack. If you buy Adventure Pack 1 Activity, you will likely be denied to ride the flyer or the zip rider (despite those being an option in the adventure pack). If you only want to ride Flyer or Zip Rider, you must buy the the pass specifically for that. Otherwise, they'll make you only ride trottibike (or cart when it's open). And it was not because of weather. It was because lots of people wanted to ride it. (This is what they mean by "do their best to provide alternative activity". Ride trottibike or cart. Wanted flyer or zip ride? Should have read the terms.) And even if you buy Adventure Pack 2 Adventure, you'll be forced to ride trottibike as second activity. So, you can't do both flyer and rider. And forget about refunds. Even if you or your little kids are not physically capable of doing trottibike.
In my opinion, flyer is not that much fun.
Buy in advance. In my experience, tickets were sold out in...
Read moreWe had a great time on the flyer although the ride was short. To participate, you'll first need a ticket to ride the gondola up to the last stop (35 ish minutes) and then you'll need a ticket for the flyer itself. Flyer tickets can be purchased at the hotel front desk (if you're a guest), online via the website, or at the flyer itself (credit card only).
You can line up prior to the rides opening which isn't a bad idea as the line can get long. We waited about 90 minutes before we made it to the top. Bags are permitted but try your best not to have an oversized bag. Depending on the size, the bag will either go on your back or strapped to your front.
The attendants strap you in and then you're off. The end of the ride will have you one gondola stop below your takeoff point. If you want to ride the mountain bikes or trotty bikes, you're exactly where you want to be. If you want to hike to the lake, you'll need to either hike or take the gondola back up.
The ride was sift but memorable. I'd do it...
