I recently attended the ITU AI for Good summit at Palexpo in Geneva, and the venue proved to be an excellent choice for this type of large-scale international conference. The exhibition center offers impressive versatility with numerous halls and spaces that can accommodate events of varying sizes, which worked perfectly for the diverse programming of sessions, exhibitions, and networking areas. One of Palexpo's standout features is its incredibly convenient location. The venue is literally walking distance from Geneva Airport, making it a breeze for international attendees to arrive and get straight to the event without the hassle of complicated transfers or lengthy commutes. This proximity is particularly valuable for conferences that draw participants from around the world. The facility itself is well-designed with clean, modern spaces that provide plenty of room for attendees to move around comfortably, even during busy periods. The layout is intuitive and easy to navigate, which helps when you're trying to get between different sessions or exhibition areas quickly. The dining and retail options within and around Palexpo are quite decent, offering a good variety of restaurants and shops that cater to different tastes and budgets. While they may not be gourmet destinations, they certainly meet the needs of conference attendees looking for convenient meal options or quick purchases. The infrastructure handles large crowds well, with adequate facilities and services to support major international events. The venue's professional atmosphere and efficient organization contribute to a smooth conference...
Read moreLogistically, the Palexpo scores high with me on how well they manage the various visitors who arrive via car, train or plane. Via car, they offer enough space, and parking personnel and offer a shuttle service to the expo which includes the price of parking (10-20 CHF). The down side in going by car it there is a line to park (10-30 minute wait to park). By train from Zurich, it was dream. Because I got off the train and there were guides and posters directing me to the Expo and it was a 5-10 minute walk inside the Expo. The SBB (Swiss Train) ordered extra trains for the event.
For things that could be improved: there is always a long line at the ATMs inside of the Expo, so go to the ATM before visiting the Expo. The food quality is extreme - meaning there is either standard sandwiches (6.50 to 10 CHF) that are reasonably priced but lacking taste. Or one can dine on...
Read moreWe were at les automnale! On free ticket day there were less people, not too busy. But we managed to have a lot of fun! The event floor plan is a just alright, the exhibitors are quite mixed up and random. The local beer corner was excellent. The staff were very nice and welcoming, expressing their passion in food and beverage. For me this is the best way to understand a culture and support local business. The venue was great and in general well organised with a bit of outside smoking area so people got to have a bit of fresh air. Haven’t see a water fountain but it could be quite important. Toilet was very clean and due to low entry, it was not busy at all. This is a perfect place to host event and also event organiser did well to manage it and it was very kids friendly. Excellent impressions as my first time in this...
