A great castle ruin, well maintained with a good view across Meiringen and of Reichenbach Falls across the valley. Pretty safe as ruins go, but watch your step and kids! The modern steel stairs take you up to the top. No ticket or entry control, just walk in anytime 24/7. There are signs giving history and how each level was used throughout, in English and German. Construction began about 1250, abandoned around 1400s, restored in 2004.

Klein aber fein ist hier die Devise. Die Ruine der alten Zollburg Resti sind in einem sehr guten Zustand. Treppen und Tafeln führen auf kurzweilige aber interessante Weise durch das Gemäuer. Von oben hat man dann eine prima Sicht auf den Ort Meiringen und die umliegenden Berge. Direkt an der Ruine befindet sich ein öffentlicher Grillplatz, der von jedermann genutzt werden kann. Holz steht zur Verfügung. Der Weg zur Burg ist gut ausgeschildert. Wer einen kleinen historischen Abzweig beim Wandern sucht, ist hier richtig.
