My wife and I enjoyed a very memorable and relaxing long weekend at a self-contained apartment in this 1.5 year old hotel, situated in a quiet location yet only a one minute walk from Meiringen's center.

The main train station is only a 2 min walk from the hotel and there are many attractions within walking distance. A 20 min walk takes you to a mountain railway where a further 10 min ride leads you to the famous 250 meter tall Reichenbach waterfall. Alternatively, walk 30 mins to a famous gorge carved by the Ares River with canyon walls barely a meter apart at the narrowest section. Meiringen also has a lot of good restaurants and an abundance of small shops to browse. It is a great base to explore the Alps to the immediate south, such as Grimselwelt with its 106 degree gradient Gelmerbahn taking you to a pristine mountain lake, the Furka pass of James Bond fame, or the Rhone glacier, both a 45min drive away.

Back to the apartment, the kitchen and the two bathrooms of our unit were all of then highest standards. Furthermore, the apartment had great sound insulation, so we didn't hear any neighbors. The staff at the reception desk was very helpful and we enjoyed a great time in the sauna.

The only thing i missed was a way to recycle. In this day and age, especially in a beautiful natural location like Meiringen, I would have expected separate glas, paper and plastic containers. Instead, there were only refuse bins and all our recyclables ended up in there on checkout day. Offering recycling facilities would complete this otherwise perfect venue.

An excellent hotel and true Alpine sanctuary. Highly...

Never in my life have I encountered an institution with such a miser mentality as I did at Swisspeaks resorts. The amount of rules and regulations with no equivalent level of service is ridiculous. Also - this is no issue of cultural understanding - even my swiss friends were shocked by hearing the things described at the hotel.

I have stayed at hotels all over the globe - and never have I encountered one that charges - 1) a cleaning fee, 2) extra charges for changing linens and TOILET PAPER 3) has such an early checkin/late check out (screenshots/photos attached). Additionally there was no hand soap in our bathroom! When I asked about it at the reception I was told I had to bring my own. They have no customer service mindset - they make you feel like youre doing them a favour by paying them to stay at their property.

The only thing that they have is good amenities but only open during certain hours - for example, if you needed to use the sauna/toilet/gym before 8:30 am - you could not! Physically they do not let you scan your hotel card.

The apartment itself was decent to stay in for 2 nights before going to see jungfraujoch. The issues were apartment: 1) it was directly next to the train line so we heard the noises from it all night. 2) it was too hot to sleep without a fan and if we opened the windows, then the train noise would come. We had also requested a fan (which in this heat should be a given, not a request) but they “ran” out at the reception. Meringen is a convenient town and resort has the privilege of being excellently located, which is the only benefit of this...

We stayed there for 3 nights . BEWARE when you check out staff will be banging on your door exactly 10.00 am they will not give you even 1 min extra. Staff is very rude they are like baliffs who will enter straight into your room at 10.01am without your permission and will not be considerate that you have kids and need just extra 5 mins. For these money minded people 10 means 10 he was threating to put late check out charge due to late by 5 minutes.|They will expect you to clean the full flat and change the bed sheets so they can rent out straightaway without spending that £75 for cleaning we paid in booking. You will have to wipe all the glasses (he said no water inside WASHED GLASSES), dry wipe kitchen worktop, basically everything in the house. Before you leave there staff will come back with you to inspect every single thing in the flat and pick list of things to be cleaned like you are working as a cleaner for there company and if you say something they will start being aggressive and rude. They will not let you go until you clean there whole flat even if you have kids who are crying outside for parents who are busy cleaning there flat so they can make more money and keep £75 for cleaning you paid in advance in there back pockets. Parking there is a scam they will pre book it automatically for £15 per day like its New York's Times Square parking. We parked outside on the street for FREE.||They will try hard all ways on you to make extra money. |AVOID...

My family and I had an amazing stay at Swisspeak apartment last week in September! We stayed for 5 nights. The location is unbeatable—just a 2-minute walk from the railway station, which made our traveling super convenient. The surrounding scenery was breathtaking, with beautiful mountains all around and a small waterfall adding to the serene atmosphere. It has a small playground for kids as well. The apartment was also located close to a Migros, making it easy to pick up any essentials. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well-maintained, offering a very comfortable and pleasant experience. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, always ready to assist with any needs. The quiet and peaceful surroundings made it the perfect place to relax with your loved ones. I highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a convenient and tranquil stay. I would definitely return! Thank you so much for your hospitality. #TeamSwisspeakMeiringen
