We returned to our local art museum this Saturday, September 21st 2024, celebrating its 75 years existence the same night the city of Lausanne organized its annual museum night when everyone can visit all museums in and around town for 10 CHF. The mayor of Pully and the museum director gave their speeches and everyone was offered a piece of celebration cake and wine from the cellar of Pully while listening to the city fanfare and waving little flags. Sooo authentic! Afterwards we visited the recently opened exposition featuring pop art from the 1960-ies and 70-ies. It was obvious how politics of that time influenced the artists and their works have aged quite well. This is a beautiful little museum, situated in the old town just a few min from our house and overlooking a lush garden towards the south. The museum has been teasing the public for some time now by placing photographs along the waterfront for their upcoming exhibition that opened yesterday evening and features local photographer Matthieu Gafsou. It's entitled Le voile du réel. His rich production in this retrospective is very well curated and presents beautifully in the rather small rooms of the museum.
