This review is not necessarily reflecting the store in and of itself, but rather the company and the suppliers IKEA uses. This location is organized and clean, and the staff is really friendly and helpful.
My main issue is with delivery services. In June 2022, I made a very large purchase at the Aubonne location (I left a review of my experience) and had multiple issues with the delivery services used. I decided to give Vernier a try to see if I would have a better experience.
Unfortunately, my experience wasn’t much better. I had a delivery scheduled for 21 July 2022, between 8h and 12h. I was told the driver would call 30 minutes prior to delivery. By 13h I still had not received a call concerning my delivery. I called IKEA Vernier for a status update. They tell me that the delivery was scheduled for 23 July 2022, between 8h and 12h. I had the paperwork to prove otherwise. But customer service argued that their system showed delivery for 23 July and there was nothing they could do.
This placed me in an awkward situation as first, the furniture was for my mother in law who was on her way to us. I planned on assembling everything on 21 July. Second, I was leaving for Paris to pick my mother in law up at the airport early on 23 July, so I wouldn’t be at home during the 23 July delivery window. I had to ask my neighbor to open up my apartment to have the furniture delivery. It was awkward for me as I’ve only live in my current location for a month and a half and I don’t know my neighbor all too well.
All was delivered on 23 July, without further incident. But again, I’m very disappointed with the delivery service used by IKEA in Switzerland. Next time I will rent a vehicle and pick it up myself. I paid CHF 99.95 twice for poor delivery service.
My advice to those reading this review, DO NOT use the delivery service offered by IKEA in Switzerland. Your purchase will not be...
Read moreHonestly if I could rate it less than 1 star I would. This is the worst stocked ikea i have ever visited. Their staff is completely unaware of any promotion that is happening. Customer service which i had to visit multiple times already for different problems is completely useless and unorganised. The answer to a serious complaint i had was basically: tough luck. They have promotions going on where the staff doesn’t even know it, when u need someone the answer is they are probably on a break, working just the morning shift etc. moving countries a lot i have almost too many ikea experiences and this one in geneva is truly the worst. The delivery service i paid for had to return 2 to my apartment after forgetting to bring everything, and of course at the end they still forgot something. I got a refund but only AFTER forcing ikea to do so, because in the beginning they offered just a 70% refund. The couch after being used for 2 months ONLY by me looks disgusting with fabric getting ruined from i dont even understand what, and their answer is ‘it is what it is’. Complete lack of professionalism for swiss standards. Everything that could go wrong it did and they dont want to be held accountable for their mistakes. Literally i know a lot of peiole buy there for the prices but this is a joke. Rather buy of facebook marketplace...

I did a kitchen renovation as part of a full house reno, and had to buy everything new. Ikea delivers to your house and then they outsource the installation to a partner. The quality is not the problem, and the price of the material is unbeatable for Switzerland, but after sales service is hard to get through, you speak with different people, you do a lot of explaining, and answers don't come easily. My kitchen had some elements that were delayed, I've been camping for about three weeks now, I don't have a working kitchen yet. I asked for the installation of the homeappliances which I bought at Ikea (dishwasher, kitchen hood) and elsewhere (fridge, cooking stove, sink, oven), it's fine with Ikea, the installer will juste add it to the quote, but in my case it hasn't been done as I expected, you have to make sure the installer's quote says literally what they have to do, because pluging in is not the same as doing some plumbing in case you ordered a sink or a dishwasher... If you have a tight budget which was my case, as I did a full house renovation, then brace yourself and go with Ikea, if you are only redoing the kitchen and you can allow yourself to spend a little more, then maybe go to a kitchen professional, it will be a a lot less stress and maybe painless...
