On Arrival I went to the desk to check in, the man behind the desk was very rude and arrogant. After checking in, I asked to confirm our airport shuttle at 04:50. The man advised we couldn't get that shuttle it was fully booked, I explained that prior to making our booking I rang to confirm this shuttle was available to us at we had a 7am flight, which it was. I also included this on my booking notes which he read back and said it wasn't him on the phone and therefore I could be lying. He continued to be laughing about the shuttle being full stating it's not his problem and hopefully we will still make our flight, again laughing. I asked to speak to a manager to which he pointed at the guy next to him saying he was the team leader, this guy shrugged his shoulders and said like he said hopefully you make your flight and laughed. I began to video record this conversation due to the utter unnecessary rudeness - I am very happy to forward on to you. As an airport hotel, offering a free shuttle and confirm availability prior to making the booking it should be your priority to honor this and get people to the airport for their flight. Shocking. We then had to get a £25 uber to the airport in morning. Further to this, the man behind the bar was very rude - he shouted at my husband to sit down when he went to the bar to order drinks and I mean shouted. Again unnecessary if table service, that's completely fine - however advise that nicely and also don't then serve a further 2 gentlemen at THE BAR after us. When leaving the bar and giving our room number to charge the drinks to our room, the man also continued to be very rude when we said we was leaving making a comment about how he was thankful the children would be no longer be there. The children who was only sat on iPad quietly. We actually run a family travel social medias we thousands of followers and we will not be recommending.
On a positive note, shout out to the lady running breakfast as she was lovely and allowed us to get a take away latte whilst trying to get an Uber even though breakfast...
Read moreI have travelled to more than 30 countries, and Movenpick Geneva Airport is one of the worst Accor properties I have been ( i have stayed in more than 20 Accor properies ). And Alec's attitude toward guests is hard to convince me that he is devoted to the hospitality industry he is in now.
Few issues I have encountered : I emailed the hotel prior to my arrival. No reply even after I left the hotel now On the website, it's stated that the airport shuttle will run till 11.30 pm at 20 min intervals. I have waited more than 40 minutes for every journey back to the hotel. Last night, I had to depend on courtesy of other hotels to give me a ride as I waited more than 50 minutes in rain. When I reflected to Alec for improvement, he kept insisting that we should call instead of just waiting, so it's not their fault. But no guidance is given upon check-in nor in the shuttle bus, yet being guests in Geneva, we shall " automatically " know. That's the awareness you need to have if you want to stay here. And ya, no apology. I asked for a toothbrush as they are not available in the room. The reception asked me to collect from the counter instead of sending it in. I think even 3 stars will try to accommodate guests, but in Movenpick, you need to engage in self-service. I have asked if I can keep the luggage in the hotel as I am returning to Geneva for my flight leaving Swtizerland. According to Alec, they won't do and don't assume responsibility for the safety of luggage when we don't have upcoming reservations. It's astonishing to me as Alec sounded as if he was threatening the safety of my luggage if I didn't return to stay, without considering the schedule of mine in Switzerland.
Switzerland is famous for their hospitality industry. But if you want to experience the worst, do come to Movenpick Geneva...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! Very rude to Americans. Worst check in service I’ve ever had. Refused to tell us anything about the hotel or Geneva. Kept speaking French among their colleagues and laughing while looking at us. We both felt very uncomfortable. Told us we were upgraded only to put us in a smaller room with a view of the roof. Couldn’t figure out credit card to guarantee room or speak in english so that my wife and I could understand even though they clearly spoke English. When we tried to enter the casino we were told we were not allowed because we were too young even though we’re both in our 30s and we tried to show them our Passports but she just pointed and said we’d have to change our clothes to enter without any explanation. Very confused as to what is happening here. The room is dirty and smells of rotten fish. The bed didn’t have fitted sheets so the flat sheet they tried to use instead of a fitted sheet just kept coming up any time you’d move and expose the dirty mattress. We ordered room service the first night at 1115 and asked for pizza that wasn’t available until 1130 but the guy on the phone told us it wasn’t available until 12 even though the book clearly said differently. We then asked if we could just get it for 1130 and he said no not until 1145. He seemed very put off by the fact we even asked for room service. “Sorry to bother you while you’re at work, man”. This isn’t 5 star service and there is NO WAY this is a 5 star hotel unless they gave it to themselves. Highly recommend staying...
