Kirche Bühl — Attraction in Zurich

I understand that many people appreciate the tradition and I really don't mind the ringing during the day. What I don't understand, however, is why the longer ringing at 7 AM has to be so much louder than the regular hourly bells. It's easily twice as loud and impossible to escape from. If the morning ringing has to continue, isn't it at least possible to use the quieter bells? I'm sure that the whole neighbourhood would really...

The bells are ringing through the whole night literally every quarter. This church is a vexation for the whole neighborhood. I still can't believe that something like that is allowed in the year 2019 in a European country.

Die ständige Lärmbelästigung durch Kirchenglocken, besonders während unseres Fondue-Abends, wo 20 Minuten lang jegliche Konversation unmöglich war, ist nicht länger hinnehmbar. Wir sind uns der standardisierten Antwort bewusst, die oft auf Beschwerden folgt: "Tut uns sehr Leid, dass Ihnen das Glockengeläute als störend empfinden..." gefolgt von Verweisen auf Tradition und die Läutordnung der Ev. Reformierten Kirche. Diese Antwort berücksichtigt jedoch nicht die realen Auswirkungen auf die Lebensqualität der Anwohner. Wir fordern die Verantwortlichen auf, über die üblichen Erklärungen hinauszugehen und echte, wirkungsvolle Maßnahmen zu ergreifen, die sowohl die kulturellen Werte respektieren als auch das Recht auf Ruhe der Stadtbewohner schützen.
