Similar set up, layout and design as Hanxi Night Market, one could consider Daqing to be Hanxi's twin. The market is set up on a vacant parking lot and they are ready by 5PM, about 45 minutes earlier than Hanxi. The navigation is identical, the vendors are set up at the same locations, with the last row of ring toss, with the restaurant row immediately before game row. It seems even the airsoft vendors are in the same locations. A pretty good concept for new visitors, as they seek familiar surroundings.
The outer perimeter of the lot is filled with vendors, with foods near the street side entrance, running along both the left and right side. The pathways then cross the lot in rows. This lot feels smaller in average, though the number of rows do feel the same .
Though there are many similarities between these sister marketplaces, there are also difference as not all vendors work both sites. These difference make it worthwhile to visit each one separately if one has two nights to spend.
So given the choice between the two, which would I prioritize. As a bonus there is a sunset market across the street to the north, adjacent to McDonald's, called Jiangua North Sunset Market. This market which opens a few hours earlier, gives Daqing the advantage over Hanxi, by expanding the food choices significantly. If I were combo both markets together, then this one site would have a combined rating...
Read moreThis night market was recommended to us by a local. Not super accessible by transit so we took a cab from our hotel and it was super worth it! Lots of stalls but it did not feel too crowded at all!
Recommend: watermelon juice stall (it was only about 45 NT for a huge cup), cast iron black pepper noodle stand (they have seating - we tried the steak and it hit the spot), boneless pork ribs.
The skewers we tried were only okay. The Yakult slush (they claim no water added) was pretty refreshing too. 60 NT for a pretty small cup so more pricey than other drinks. The cheese coin dessert was ok as well, nothing too special.
The rou jia mo seemed to be the most popular stall with a consistent line throughout the night! It’s a flaky pastry with chopped meat and...

This was introduced to me by one of my foodie and goody friend @kk_thegoody 🤣 because they are lazy to come Taichung🥲. They share with me the Taichung food so that I can go and try😆. So, being a good friend, I did🫡. It took me a complete whole round of the night market🥲🥱 to find this hidden sweet tooth store🫠. I ordered what my friend shared😐. The owner was polite and cute❤️. And then she thanked us🥰. It was a good gesture🥹. And on the top the delicious TAROYAKI😋. If you live in Daqing or visit this night Market, do go and try and help the local vendors😊.
