**Review for Qixingtan Scenic Area (七星潭海岸風景特定區)** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Qixingtan Scenic Area is a breathtaking coastal destination in Hualien, renowned for its stunning views and tranquil atmosphere. Here’s a detailed review of my visit: **Scenery and Views:** The landscape at Qixingtan is simply mesmerizing, featuring a unique combination of turquoise waters, rugged cliffs, and smooth, round pebbles on the beach. The panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean are spectacular, especially during sunrise or sunset. The contrasting colors of the sea and sky create a picturesque setting perfect for photography. **Activities and Facilities:** The area is perfect for a variety of activities. You can enjoy leisurely walks along the coastal path, take a bike ride, or simply relax on the beach, watching the waves crash against the shore. There are several designated spots for picnicking and enjoying the outdoors. The park is equipped with clean restrooms and plenty of benches for resting and soaking in the view. **Accessibility and Convenience:** Qixingtan is easily accessible, with ample parking space available for visitors. The pathways are well-maintained and suitable for strollers and wheelchairs, making it an inclusive destination for everyone. The area is also well-signposted, making it easy to navigate and find different viewpoints and attractions within the park. **Cultural and Historical Significance:** The area has a rich cultural history, with the nearby Qixingtan Fishing Port offering insights into local maritime traditions. The port is also a great place to sample fresh seafood at one of the local eateries, providing a delicious end to your visit. The scenic area’s name, "Seven Star Lake," is derived from the legend of seven stars that shine brightly over the lake, adding a touch of mystique to the experience. **Maintenance and Cleanliness:** The entire area is impeccably maintained, with clean paths, well-kept gardens, and no litter in sight. The dedication to maintaining the natural beauty and cleanliness of Qixingtan is evident and makes the experience even more enjoyable. **Overall Experience:** Qixingtan Scenic Area is a must-visit for anyone in Hualien. Its stunning landscapes, serene atmosphere, and the perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage make it a top destination. Whether you’re an avid photographer, a nature lover, or just looking for a peaceful escape, Qixingtan offers something special for everyone. Highly recommended for a day of relaxation, exploration, and unforgettable views!

Beautiful stone/pebble beach - the ocean spray is intriguing, and leaves the taste of salt on your lips by the end of the day. This beach is not a swimming beach - it is more of a beach where you can truly take in all the beauty of the ocean and enjoy the view of mountain ranges in the back drop. There are rocks and stones of all sizes on the beach where amazing photo ops may be had. There are some food stands for grilled snacks. There is a military base right behind the beach, so there may be times where jets are fly back to base - pretty cool if you like military jets. Even though not very large and not a swimming beach I still say it is a must see for its natural beauty.

Joined a local tour, with a group of China mainland tourists. First visited the Taroko Gorge then the chisingtan. This is not a pond or lake as ghe chinese name indicates; it is an ocean, Pacific Ocean to be precise. Long beach, however it is not safe for swimming. According to the guide, the under current is very strong. A few metres from the beach is a sharp cliff like drop of the ocean floor. While there, we could see huge black clouds hovering over the far end of the mountain, and rain pouring down.

It is surely one of the most beautiful scenic spots that everyone should visit when they come to Hualien. The vast ocean and cool breeze will certainly soothe your anxiety and all your stress. Make sure you bring an umbrella or a raincoat because it is common to have some temporary drizzles from time to time. Plus, you can pile some of the pebbles and make a wish with it. Finally, it is a great place to take amazing pictures and have some snacks from the vendors there.

Serene place. Loved it a lot. I wish I could stay there forever. It is called as pebble beach too. Ofcourse you cannot go near the beach. It is ferocious and looked dangerous. The scenary looked awesome. Good spend some time early in the morning and take a walk along the beach. If you walk barefoot, it's like acupuncture but may start to hurt after a while. Worth to spend some time. Ensure to take scooter or bicycle. Getting a cab back from there is very difficuly.

Rock beach has a different kind of charm. Instead of building sand castle, you can challenge yourself to build the tallest rock tower. The rock beach always means a different kind of sound as the wave retreat back to the sea. Very lovely place to come in the early morning or late afternoon when the rock is not cooked by the sun. The place is also right beside the airforce base. So you can occasionally see F16 take off with thundering sound right over your head.
