If you are a backpacker or travelling on budget seeking for cheaper accomodation option in TianXiang, feel free to ring TianXiang Catholic church to make a reservation, that is the only way you can make a reservation here. We've paid NTD700 per night for a twin room with shared bathroom, a dormitory style room is available at NTD300 per person and one double room with private bathroom cost NTD1200. Apparently the price varies depends on the season so always ring to enquire about the most accurate pricing for the date you're planning to visit . We were supposed to book at another church in TianXiang which is located at the other end of TianXiang (you will need to ring them to make a reservation as well) but we ended up booking this by mistake but all is well! The room is fairly clean, very very basic and dated, it is however quiet as it is at a higher ground. We hardly see any staffs around other than the guy who checked us in during our two days stay. If you need help you will need to go down to the reception and ring the doorbell to get any assistance. There are a lot of cats around the place. Three showers and 5 toilets in the shared bathroom. everything is fairly clean. Please take note that Hot showers are available from 6PM-10PM ONLY! There are some small bugs and insects flying around but please be reminded where you are. Some extra infos: Probably it's the quiet season here but eateries around TianXiang shut at around 5:30-6pm when we were there though I've read at review somewhere it did mention 7pm. There is a 7/11 in TianXiang which opens till 9PM (though majority of 7/11 in Taiwan are open 24hr, not this one). ...

I got to be friends with tourists from Taipei in 太魯閣 trail, and I told I didn’t have any place to stay at the night, they kindly ask the master to accept me, and he did with pleasure. I had been going back to Taipei in my first plan but couldn’t because my motorcycle was broken. Although I am not an Christian, everyone I met there was kind for me, so I was very happy after staying. The master can speak Japanese little, he said goodbye and see you again...
Read moreIt's a good place to spend the night here, instead of going all the way back to Hualien. You get what you pay for. 300NTD for a bed in a 6-8 bed dorm. There's a 7-11nearby that's open till late. Apparently there are hot showers available from 6pm but I couldn't find any shower. There's a fairly clean toilet. The restaurants or food stalls here close before 7pm. So keep that in mind if you want to get some food...
