The service at this hotel really stands out!||We had issues with Taiwan Rail trains, both coming and going, and the Silks Place staff made the problems go away.||Coming, we were set to take the hotel's shuttle from the Hualien train station up to the hotel, when we found that our relatives had gotten on the local train from Taipei instead of the express, and would arrive late. The Silks Place dispatcher at the Hualien train station quickly arranged a second, smaller, shuttle just for us, and guided us to call our relatives to ask them to get off at an earlier train station. We met them there in this smaller shuttle, and ended up at the hotel without any difficulty or delay.||Going, we misunderstood the Taiwan Rail app and had all four of our tickets on a single mobile phone, whereas the limit is one per phone, and we didn't have four phones with us. We needed to reverse the process and get paper tickets instead. Silks Place desk staff called ahead to the Hualien train station to explain the situation and prepare them for our arrival. They also helped us compose a message in Mandarin to show at the station. Everything worked out since they had smoothed the way.||Finally, we would like to draw attention to the English-language morning tour of the gorge, which was led by a kind, good-humored, and very informative guide. The pace of this morning tour was perfect, as we were accompanied by older relatives. There was a stop for ginger tea. Rain gear was provided when it started to rain. We stayed in Silks Palace Toroko last year in December and it was such a beautiful, relaxing and luxury end to our two week trip in Taiwan. The staff were so friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make our stay memorable. Robin, the Concierge helped us organise a private taxi from Hulien all the way to the hotel and our taxi driver gave us a tour on the way into Toroko. She was so friendly and started our trip into Toroko on the best note.|| We stayed at Silks for one night and had the most amazing spa experience and massage with Neeko. The food at Dinner that night was absolutely beautiful in taste and design. The beds were so comfortable and rooms absolute luxury.|| We spent the next night elsewhere and had an awful experience so we booked in at Silks again for our last night in Toroko. Robin the Concierge who we had been liasing with the whole trip and who had already gone above and beyond for us, organised a private taxi free of charge to come and pick us up from the other hotel drop us off to catch up with another awesome tour the hotel organised through the gorge led by Vita and dropped our bags at the hotel.
