平常日到此遊客中心入口處附近看不到幾個遊客，也沒看到流動性的攤販，應該是為了遊客吃喝購買的方便，都在大佛區那邊擺攤較有生意。而遊客中心入口處左側的建物牆面繪製有八卦山旅遊探索地圖，標示相關景點的導覽指引，初次來訪遊客可用手機拍下來作為自助遊景時導覽參考。又入口處的正對面北方可看到往大佛區入口的高聳雄偉牌坊，大佛離此步行不遠。遊客中心圓弧形建築物的東側有公廁可使用，南側有步道往東邊山坡下方的生態園區且會途經兒童遊樂區的樹屋地景及二支長龍滑梯。

遇到的服務人員不專業，家庭旅遊帶著行李廂(未開車)，想問哪裡有無障礙坡道可以上去看大佛，得到的答案是爬樓梯扛上去。走到樓梯頂點看見一條坡道從停車場上來，要離開的時候發現另一條坡道可以回到樓梯下(下面的起點被排樓遮擋住)。 想想都覺得離奇，知名觀光景點怎麼可能沒有無障礙坡道呢？為什麼遊客中心的服務人員會不知道呢？
