Navruz Palace We have very few words to describe the Navruz Palace initially! It would be best if you visited Tajikistan to see this fantastic place for yourself.
Once called the biggest tea house in the world, Navruz Palace is undoubtedly big but not a tea house. It has a giant man-made lake bowling alley pool hall, cinema, restaurant and we haven't even mentioned the main rooms yet Tea houses have always been important throughout central Asia, not just to get a cup of tea but as a place to meet, talk, chat, and maybe make the odd business deal. It used to be that cities would have their large central tea house establishments and smaller, more local affairs.
With the advent of television, radio, and the internet, the popularity of these places has declined. Due to the declining demand for tea houses, the smaller business has close while the larger joints had to diversify and becoming restaurants.
In 2002 it was suggested by President Emomali Rahmon that the city of Dushanbe construct a new tea house somewhere that people can be proud of; Work was begun with funding from Orien state bank. Throughout its construction, the finest craftsmen were employed utilising the finest materials. In 2015 the 4,000 workers finished a complex that covers 40,000 sq metres. Now completed its clear that Kokhi Navruz palace is a lot more than a tea house If u are in...
Read moreKohi Navruz is an incredibly beautiful and majestic hall that is one of the largest tea houses in the world. It was built in 2014 in Dushanbe and has since become one of the main tourist attractions in Tajikistan.
The entrance to the hall is decorated with beautiful "kundal" patterns, which create a unique atmosphere of eastern luxury. The roof of the hall is painted with bright colors, and the wooden staircase is decorated with carvings on both sides.
The hall is made of 29 types of semi-precious stones from Tajikistan, which gives it the name "stone hall". On the walls, you can see mosaics inspired by the paintings of Kamoliddin Behzod.
The Tajik carving hall is especially impressive, where under the guidance of master Burhan, more than 6,000 square meters of wood carving were done. The hall has 16 columns and a large chandelier made of crystal weighing 3 tons.
The highest hall in the building is the golden hall, 38 meters high. The patterns on the columns and walls are decorated with pure gold, and a huge chandelier weighing 6 tons and 700 kilograms hangs from the ceiling.
Kohi Navruz is the pride of Tajikistan and one of the eight modern wonders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This hall leaves unforgettable impressions and is a must-visit for anyone interested in Eastern...
Read moreI am giving Navruz an average rating mostly because of my experience not the place itself which looks impressive (although I couldn’t see inside). I went as a solo person and the guide said I could not enter unless with a group. There were no people around (I arrived at 10 AM) so all I could do was either eat at the tea house (which wasn’t really open yet) or just walk around the surroundings. The building is grand and impressive, it looks like a beautiful place. And the setting by the lake (next to the Hyatt Regency) is probably nice for evening walks. I would suggest verifying if it’s open before you go because it seems like they don’t keep...
