We had such a great time with Emmanuelâs Tanzania Joy Tour and all his Partners! Emmanuel and his sister Mary find a solution for everything. Very professional.
The Kilimandjaro trek was so great. A huge thanks to the porters, so strong and so nice, Togolai Gerevas Gerard Godefroy Elias Thomas Bon Kolokolo Rashid Mohamed Ali (that's two persons), cook âMr. Deliciousâ Jeremia, and guides Patrick and Lennard. They all took extreme good care of us and we managed the summit. Patrick knows his mountain and his team very well, Lennard is the Pacemaker. We chose the 8 Days Lemosho route for best acclimatization of the body, so it was pole pole (slowly slowly) and successful ;) The summit ascension (from midnight to 7am, so at night) was very cold so to any layers you plan to wear, take an extra fleece jacket in the backpack just in case.
It was important for us to give the tips directly to each of them, which was accepted by the guide. It was good to see joy in the eyes of each of them. If this is also important for you, make sure to plan it with the guide (he knows who does what exactly - some porters take extra tasks). You may feel some friction, apparently some guides keep a percentage of the porters tips for themselves - remember, this is YOUR gift to each team member, so it is YOUR decision to give it personally to each of them. Now it is important to discuss the best time with the guide, to not jeopardize his organization - usually at the very end, when all tasks have been completed. Make sure to take USD bank notes printed after 2006 as the older ones cannot be used in Tanzania. EURO bank notes are also accepted for the tips.
Then we had a great 4-day-safari with guide Roger (he knows so much! And is very kind) and cook Rashid.
Thanks TJT...
Read moreAmazing! Please look no further than TJT for your arrangements in Tanzania. I have two recommendations, as me and two friends recently returned to Georgia and Tennessee from our trip to Tanzania.
First, the Kilimanjaro climb was abolsutely incredible. From the beginning, Emmanuel was very clear about trip logistics and itineary. OCG was our lead guide, and he will take great care of you if you're lucky enough to have him. I also commend OCG's assistant Marcell and our "stomach engineer" Joomba for the great work they did for us. They got us up and down the mountain a day early, while being very careful to ensure we were drinking water, resting, and eating.
Second, If you opt to do a safari, I HIGHLY recommend you ask for Nasari. 10/10 Nasari was probably the highlight of my trip. What a cool and friendly guy. Every time we stopped at a light, it seemed like somebody knew him and came over to say hi. Extremely knowledgeable about wildlife, patient with what we wanted to see, and I was amazed at how he had a knack for finding the interesting happenings. I'd feel comfortable saying he was the most enjoyable overall guide I have had.
Nasari- If you're reading this, I hope we meet again my friend! You rock!
Overall- Outstanding employees. Outstanding coordination. Outstanding service! We put our trip entirely in the hands of TJT, and they came through in a big way. I will recommend to any friends and family that will do one of these trips. Thanks Emmanuel for running a great company and hope we get...
Read moreWe started our visit with climbing Mount Kilimanjaro via the 7 DAYS LEMOSHO ROUTE followed by the 5 DAYS CLASSIC TANZANIA SAFARI.
Climbing Kilimanjaro was an unforgettable 7-day journey, not only because we reached the summit, but because of the dream team that made it possible. Patrick (guide) and Gabriël (assistant guide) guided us safely, always motivating us when things became tough. You could really feel that the entire team of guides, cook and porters were on a mission for us to reach our goal in the best way possible. Setting up camp ahead of us and always greeting us with a smile. We will carry both the mountain and this dream team forever in our hearts.
We also enjoyed the 5-day safari a lot. Praygod is an excellent guide and driver. We were able to spot the big 5 and experience some unforgettable moments: A pride of more then 20 lions walking past our 4x4 Land Cruiser, momma cheetah enjoying a gazelle meal with 4 cubs, momma leopard taking along her cub with prey in her mouth while climbing in a tree, big groups of elephants crossing the road, spotting a Rhino and her cub,⊠The overnight stays were also enjoyable and comfortable. Even in the tented lodges in the middle of the Serengeti and at the edge of the Ngorongoro crater we had all the comfort and delicious food we needed.
Thank you Patrick and team! Thank you Praygod! Thank you...
