Myself and three friends were lucky enough to have Sebastian and George as our guide for the 8 day Lemosho route up Kilimanjaro. To be honest we were hard pressed to find any fault with Mbegaafricansafaris as a tour operator. They were fantastic in the months leading up to our trip and helping us ensure we had all the correct gear and patiently answered all of our stupid questions (thank you Sharifa!). The quality of all the gear and equipment was great and everyone was very friendly throughout the experience. Knowing we would be living on the side of a mountain for 8 days we were unsure what the food would look like but were very pleasantly surprised. The quality of the food prepared by our chef was fantastic and we were spoilt on more than one occasion (eating chicken and chips at 4,600m felt a bit decadent at the time but we loved it!). The guides were very experienced and gave us a lot of confidence we would make it to the top. They were very thorough ensuring we ascended slowly and made us complete several acclimatisation walks in the afternoons to ensure the best chance of us making it to the top. As a group our only point of concern was that a couple of our porters were wearing shoes unfit for the conditions. Overall though we would highly recommend MbegaAfricansafaris is best tour operator in Tanzania and would certainly use them again to climb...
Read moreIt was a really bad experience and i do NOT recommend this organisation. We only had 4 hours of safari in 3 days!
Unfortunately, I have to inform that almost everything that could go wrong on this safari, went wrong. • The car broke down at the start, causing us to leave 4 hours later. • We arrived very late and therefore had dinner only at 11 p.m. • The next day we agreed to leave at 7 a.m., but eventually left at 8:30 a.m. • We had to pick up another couple. The driver got lost and only arrived at 11 a.m. At 11:30 a.m. our game drive finally started. • At 2 p.m. we went for lunch, so we only had 2.5 hours of game drive that day. • At 4:30 p.m. we arrived at the entrance of the Ngorongoro Crater. The organization had not arranged the entry permits, so we had to wait another 1.5 hours. This again caused us to arrive late at camp. • We had agreed to leave at 5:30 a.m. Unfortunately the car broke down again and we left at 9 a.m.
•. The guides had no knowledge about the animals. They didn’t tell us anything. Also they did not communicate with us, we had to ask everything.
This is truly a bizarrely poorly organized safari. I paid a lot for this safari. I asked for refund, but they ignored me and called me anoing. I do NOT recommend this...
Read moreWords can hardly do justice fully describe the amazing experience of our last safari with Mbega African safaris. The safari exceeded all our expectations because it was flawless, full of adventure and excellent service in the lodges. We visited three parks and each was unique in its own way. In Tarangire we saw huge elephant herds, lots of baobab trees and many other small animals. Serengeti had many different animals, particularly along Seronera river and this was where we saw five lion prides, hyenas, lots of zebras, giraffes, antelopes, cheetahs. Ngorongoro Crater is an amazing place. Every turn led us to a great sight. We even managed to see the black rhinos, flamingos, lions, elephants, baboons and a leopard. Staying in luxurious lodges enhanced the whole experience, I almost forgot to mention guide Domick who was the main fixer in making all this happen. we had a really great experience.icomment to mbega African safaris is best tour...
